Her first scholarship offer came when she was 12. On Wednesday, Azzi Fudd turned 18 and marked the occasion by signing her national letter of intent to play for UConn.

So according to ESPN the decision was made with 3 people in the van azzi and her parents. So where do the quotes come from? Was the reporter in the van? Was there a listening device in the van? Were the conversations what the reporter imagined that they were? I'm just curious..

I love the part when Brenda offers Azzi a scholarship in 6th grade, Azzi doesn’t say anything, so Mom asks her if she has anything to say, Azzi looks up from her salad and says “Thank you,” and then presumably goes back to eating her salad. Brenda should have known right then and there that Azzi wasn’t coming to College Park.
