...more ESPN 'content' meant to blow up the Big East by dissuading schools from joining the conference.

Big East BCS berth secure through 2015 as long as 8 teams in league and minimum requirements (which all BCS leagues must follow) are met.

The formula is the way that the BE will lose its AQ. That way the BCS does not have to say to a conference with one or more service academies that you are not welcome. They will just say 'sorry, you did not make the cut under the formula.'

The same argument will overcome any legal or political claims because the formula will be there and who gets BCS berths will be transparent.

Under a formula selection of BCS berths will become a bit like the NCAA determining at-large teams for the hoops tournament.

Are they forgetting we have WVU at #13 and USF skirting the top 25? Rutgers and Cincy in the also getting votes. it's not that bad

This year, and the next two years will be important. If we finish with 2 ranked teams each year, we shouldn't have a problem depending on how many teams are in the conference.

But I haven't found anything preventing the rules/requirements from being changed after this cycle. Which is why we must bring in schools with top 25 finishes to make our case as strong as possible.

UCF and Boise meet that criteria.
