The Giants drafted their starting safety to complement Landon Collins, but it wasn't the one they nabbed at the top of the third round who worked out for them. Thompson was fine through the first two games in 2016 before suffering a foot sprain that eventually led to him on being put on injured reserve. From there, the Giants promoted Adams (undrafted) to a starter and he surpassed their wildest expectations. Adams finished the season as PFF's 39th-highest graded safety.
