7-Foot German Star and UConn Commit Eric Reibe Dominates DMV Basketball with Sights Set on the NBA

Bullis School standout Eric Reibe, inspired by Dirk Nowitzki, combines size, skill, and work ethic to build his path to the NBA, starting at UConn next season.

“I just love Coach Hurley and how intense he is, and what his plan is for me when I come in next year as a freshman,” said Reibe. “I love the players, they’re all really good people.”

Coach Kelley also approved of Reibe’s decision to play at UConn, citing Coach Hurley as a reason for future success.

“I’m so happy for him,” said Kelley. “He just believes that Coach Hurley is going to be able to bring him to that next step. The track record has been there, and he just felt that that’s where he wanted to go to best accomplish his dreams.”

We need a nickname for this twosome next year - perhaps with a German flavor to it?

Tarris Wheel
Tarris Beuhler
Das Turme (the towers, must be said like a metal band)

As for a good analogy of what it must have been like for Tarris to go from Juwan to DH, Housatonic CC to Harvard?

Reed is shooting 72% from field this year compared to his 52% last year. He’s also shooting 10 points better from the free throw line. Averaging 11 in 20 minutes compared to last years 9 in 26.5. Just needed structure.
Dan said he was going to try to simplify his moves. Be really good at them. His efficiency in the low post-with either hand- Is becoming almost unstoppable. Solid on help D and Boards. Looks like he's really enjoying himself.

I’m a huge fan and really think his ascension has only just begun. As Parcells used to say, there is a limited amount of athletic big humans on the planet. He qualifies as being both gladiator big and really nimble, skilled with both hands. He has great feet too. If the staff can reduce him down to do a few things great, skies the limit. He has a great stroke from the ft line too. Right now it’s all about refinement and playing in control, using that big body to its max and finding a little nasty streak (he’s too nice).

I was down on the floor in Texas standing next to him - he is a large friggin dude, unique.

The plural definite article is "die" (pronounced dee), so it would be die Türme. Could also go with die Zwillingstürme (twin towers), but we're really stretching the limits of pronouncability here.
