I can't believe I haven't thought of this before. Those that are around my age or so, and I see you all that the games, have heard of a band named Metallica. Perhaps many have even seen them perform live at some point or other since the early 1980s. This band has been using Ennio Morricone's composition to get arena's fired up all over the globe prior to coming out of their tunnels on stage for 3 decades and counting.

I know, that I personally used to get fired up for O Fortuna, and the players did too. I can't speak for anyone else, but for me really, only because it reminded me of a Metallica concert and a football game at the same time.

Anyway- I make formal motion that when the team takes the field, we as a program, take a page from one of the greatest live rock bands ever, and one of the greatest classical compositions ever, and start dimming the lights, and getting the crowd humming before our guys come out of the tunnel.

Would be cool if it were to happen. We need something for energy. Anything. Something that works. So - if you care to, give a listen and watch. If not - no biggie. I can't wait for tomorrow night.

Start @ 7:30 in here.

or here first 2-3 minutes here until they come out of the tunnel:

Also sampled by Jay Z on Blueprint 2, for those with a more hip hop slant... But damn, the original Ecstasy of Gold gives me chills every time.

It doesn't matter, most tailgaters haven't figured out what time kickoff is. You could play Miley Cyrus and 3/4ths of the fans would never know.

I was a big fan of O' Fortuna as well. Actually have it as my ringtone. (never changed it after they stopped playing it). Every time my phone rings I am reminded of "the good ole days"

Yup - and Will Ferrell moonlights as the drummer for RHCP.

Is there a Maryland look a like thing yet?

I always like this Metallica song better! Maybe because I'm a Yankee fan, but I think this is one of the best entrances in college football.

When Uconn has a 14 point lead late in the 4th quarter can we play "Dream On" by Aerosmith and dedicate it to Randy and his "Dream Job"?

Teenage Wasteland, really? That was not a smart choice and I don't know what to say but that I hope the people in charge of all these so called improvements get their act together ASAP! Using the song from "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly" that the NFL used in an advertisment would be a huge improvement. O' Fortuna was fine, why did it change? We've gone off the rails in so many ways.

I've never heard of Teenage Wasteland.
