Actually ran a play with movement and cutting. Sure, Martin misses but movement drew Sanogo's defender away.

Also, taking initial shot with 3 seconds gave Sanogo time to rebound and get fouled.

Even if tonight end of game didn't work, it was a much better play. Multiple players moving causing defensive rotations to get out of synch. UConn player shooting and doing it with enough time to give a chance for put back.

So much better than end of game plays against Seton Hall.

Having only 4 seconds meant the initial read had to be there and Hurley set up a good one.

Against Seton Hall, we had a full possession, tried to set up Sanogo, and then everyone (mostly Martin) froze when Plan A wasn't there.

Near end of regulation iirc there was about 50 seconds on the clock. How does the ball not end up in RJ hands. It went to Sanogo in the back court and got fouled.

It's a start to a solution, still plenty of things to work on in closing games but it's nice to see a play drawn up that worked

Sure, but nothing Cole did in the last play required Cole to be on the floor (Other than of course having a guard who doesn't just randomly fall over).

The difference was they didn't just inbound it and try to dump it to Sanogo for him to make a move and a shot. It's almost as if having someone else shoot it allowed Sanogo to get better post position from the offensive rebound than he would have gotten from a designed play to Sanogo.

It was a great play designed by Dan Hurley. He is very good at drawing up quick hitters in time outs.
