I moved into a new house a couple of years ago, and it has a steep, fairly long driveway. Last year's plowing costs were ridiculously high, so I am looking to invest in a snowblower. I hate the maintenance of gas engines, especially on equipment that might not get much use, and have switched to electric on all my other tools.

Does anyone have experience with an electric snowblower? Are they powerful enough for a steep driveway and slushy snow? I am thinking of going with the EGO Power SNTS405, two-stage.

I would merely mention that often, with a big snowstorm, we have power outages. I would be very wary that the battery life on an EGO snowblower (I love my leaf blower but it can't move all the leaves in my yard, or even 1/4 of them) would be enough to clear your driveway. We have wet heavy snow and that requires so much more energy than powder. I've burned through a whole tank of gas when it's heavy and deep.

I think those would work in places with powder or where people had a very small driveway surface.
