This is an old facebook game my friends used to play years ago.

Put your IPOD on shuffle and post the first lines of what comes up.

Caveat: I used my Amazon Music Free Library, which for me is a little bit odd. I curated a little bit to avoid the obvious and the too obscure and repeated artists and also to avoid the song titles in the lyrics

1. Doctors have come from distant cities / just to see me / standing over my bed / disbelieving what they’re seeing
2. I went to work for her … / teenage kid so far from home
3. Well I went down to Houston and I stopped in San Antone / I passed up the station for the bus
4. Living out my days in a rock 'n' roll band / Countryside, desert sand /
Moonlight, highways that never end / Singing songs about who I am
5. Oh, what have we done?/ To this kingdom we proclaim / To be the chosen one
6. When you’re down and troubled / and you need a helping hand
7. When I step into the light / my arms open wide
8. Midnight Hour almost over / Time is running out for the pair
9. They say every thing can be replaced / they say every distance is not near
10. My friends they wash the windows / and they shine in the sun
11. Packed my suitcase / racked my brain / bought a ticket on a late night train
12. Freezin' rests his head on a pillow made of concrete again
13. There’s a darkness upon me that’s flooded in light
14. What’s with these homies / dissing my girl
15. Let me tell you about a place / somewhere New York Way --
16. Baby you’re just as welcome to my loving / as the flowers in May
17. I'll marry my lover in a place to admire / I don't Have to even ask her,
18. Laying on my back / in the newly mown grass
19. ….I drive the main road / searching in the sun for another overload
20. We drove all night to Billings, Montana / Flew into Utah, slept there all day
21. I can see her lying there in her satin dress / in a room where you do what you don’t confess
22. ….It’s playing all my favorite memories / One by One they take me back / to the days when you were mine
23. I waited till I saw the sun …. / I left you by the house of fun
24. I met my old lover on the street last night
25. ….After all we’re only ordinary men / me and you

Not bad, though judging from the correct answers we've got a more distinguished generation.

I would think that #8 and #9 are obtainable though. Perhaps a few more lyrics?

8. Midnight hour almost over
Time is running out for the magic pair
I know you gave the best that you have
But one more chance
Couldn't be all that hard to bear

“I don’t even know what ‘yacht rock’ means,”“As far as I’m concerned, I’ve never been on a yacht, I’ve never owned a yacht — so I don’t even know what that means. I’ve never worn a stupid hat like that."

9.They say everything can be replaced
Yet every distance is not near
So I remember every face
Of every man who put me here
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east
Any day now, any day now
