The move was not a basketball over football decision. It was a money decision.
H25,

That is hoss manure. It was 100% a basketball move driven by nostalgia for the days of Looie and Thompson and Jim Calhoun. Sadly those days won’t be back soon. And as far a money decision. Well we pay 17 million to get out of the ACC and another 4 million to get into the Big East. Plus won’t share Big East revenues for a few years. The highly theoretical savings are 1 million/ year in travel. And they’ve gutted at least 2 programs in the hope that its 1999 again.

The move to the Big East had as much to do with the success of UConn football as Netflix airing Fuller House. I have totally come around on the move though. We could play a totally random schedule of random teams from all over the country and it would make as much sense as the AAC

You are wrong. We do get a share the BE revenues right from the start. Check it out.
