From the ashes he left? Some of you need to get over it, it's been like 5 years and if it weren't for Hathaway and P there wouldn't have been ashes buta spark that we used to reach higher levels.

Poor choice of word on my part. I agree wholeheartedly that a poor AD hiring was the main cause of our temporary demise. I really should have written something like, "the dumpster fire that happened after he left." Of course, I do get substantial shaedenfreude watching him tank. From the ashes he left? Some of you need to get over it . . .
LOCKSLEY is the interim. That is going to be awesome.
I still think Edsall was bailing out on Hathaway more than he was pursuing his dream job.So much for his dream job!
Even though temporary, it's still interesting that Anderson is hiring a guy with not only a questionable past record but also a dubious record as well. After all, he brought RE in to clean up the questionable behavior at UM under Friedgen and is replacing his clean cut coach with another guy of questionable character. The following is from 2011...Can't wait to see how this season plays out. He was absolutely brutal at his last head coaching gig.
If MD remained in the ACC they probably don't extend Edsall. How much is the buyout?Maryland stays in ACC, this never happens. For this reason, while a tough day for Edsall, a great day for Maryland. We finally see a glimmer of hope that our admin truly does want to win in football and thus willing to make a bold decision mid year. Edsall did some nice things for Maryland but after reading the board here, it appears he still made some similar mistakes, ie: accountability, etc. Names being thrown around but 2 seem to have heat behind them. Kelly and O'Brien. I'm personally hoping to see O'Brien, who use to be an assistant under Fridge, has family in Maryland, and apparently has a great UA relationship. I'm sure many name will surface over the next few months. Locks will stay on to help bridge the current recruiting class. Funny, the qb Edsall was never able to coach in 5 years is signed to a verbal this year. Haskins joins.
Edsall did a horrible job at Maryland. He didn't deserve to last as long as he did.

"New Mexico coach Mike Locksley was fired Sunday, one day after yet another tough loss and another embarrassing off-the-field incident." "In 2009, Locksley was served with a one-game suspension for punching one of his assistant coaches. He also was sued for sexual harassment by a former administrative assistant..."
"Locksley won two games in two-plus seasons, for a career record of 2-26." *

How much is the buyout?
The buyout is $500K. He also gets $2.1 million for 2016 salary.
