He calls out Diaco, haha.

Ed Daigneault on Twitter: "Not big on the whole “personal news” thing because who really gives a crap? But, about to work my last night at the Rep-Am after 22 years and my last night in journalism after 30 years. Loved most every minute of it, but it’s time to make a change before the biz forces me into it" / Twitter

is there any history there between him and "bob" other than Bob sucking?

"Bob" shut out former players, local HS coaches and the local beat guys. That might have something to do with it.

Ed Daigneault doesn't give himself enough credit. I mostly know Ed's work from tips on the Yard. So his leaving is a bit like a good acquaintance moving out of town. It sounds he's leaving on his own terms. Good for him. I'd like to drink a beer with him some time.

He said that he's a partial owner of Clocktown Brewing in Thomaston, so you can get your wish.

I’ve always been a fan. These little local media outlets have been sinking ships for over a decade. Good for him for getting out before the choice was made for him.
