Thursday and Friday : 5-7 AM Golf Channel 9:30 to 11:30 AM Golf Channel
Saturday and Sunday
5:30 - 9:00 AM Golf Channel

Note: this is the 4th major of the year for the LPGA...but not the last. The British Open is coming up in August.
The story goes that Evian sponsored this event with a large purse for several years. At some point a few years ago they told the LPGA that they
wanted to be a 'major'. If not they would not sponsor the event....period. The USGA/LPGA decided to eagerly accept this demand...or to put it another way...caved
to the demand. The setting is beautiful...the course itself has gotten some flack about it not measuring up to deserve a major designation.

after one round.....8 under 63 leads by one. Lots of low scores with several very elite players near the top.

I want Lydia Ko to win and get back to her teen years form. 5 under. 3 back after round 1.

After 36 holes there is some glitter at the top:

Brooke Henderson at 14 under....64-64
Nelly Korda second at 11 under...64-67.

All others 5 or more back....including Lydia Ko at 7 under.
IMO...either a Henderson or Korda win would be good for the tour...they need star-types to win majors to get
some TV sizzle.

With all respect to her Deacon-age...just a little more time for her to get TV glitter.
Maybe 4 more wins before the end of next year...including another major?
Definitely headed to be a top level American player for a long while...Solheim Cup and such.

mid 3rd round: Henderson making a move and pretty much nobody else...up 4.

Brooke Henderson [from Canada] wins it at 17 under....pretty tight at the end...by one over second with a bunch of 15 under. She struggled some early on but finished with a birdie flourish late in the back nine...wound up with an even par 71.

Last LPGA major is the British Open in early August at Muirfield. Of the 4 done...2 Asian winners...1 Canadian winner and one American winner...Deacon's own Jennifer Kupchak.
