. . . .and will buy men's basketball season tickets w/donation instead for 2013-14. At least that program has a young coach with a future. Thank you JC for outsmarting Warde on keeping Ollie. . . It's really too bad we don't have someone with Calhoun's street smarts as AD.

Sure seems like as Warde was issuing his edict that PP was coming back BC was hiring Addazio. Brad Bates just owned Manuel.

I was willing to give Warde/SH a pass on the ACC thing. Not this. Classic case of fiddling while Rome burns.

Ruskin - I hear you, but I would wait to see what PP does about GDL before you make the move as there will be some changes. My guess is that the changes will be made after recruiting is finalized.

As for Addazio, it's an OK move for BC as he will make the team solid, but I don't think he was the right choice and my BC friends have already emailed their disappointment. Honestly, I hope UConn aims higher than someone like Addazio when they replace PP.

Is it possible to transfer seats to someone else? Just asking.

I am not surprised at BC fans being disappointed. That was not a splash hire. Hard to even say it is a safe hire.

Buying bball season tickets would help KO get an extension.

Should have hired Addazio in Jan. 2011. We should ask the disappointed BC people if they want to trade coaches

no, it would support wardes stuck in the middle bs right now. u buy after the contract so that uconn can see once that move was made u support it and the fans overall support it. fans control the school by how they spend money when it comes to athletics butch. thats why everyone here is being a and playing the fanhood card with P and gdl. if every one of u went cold turkey today, he would be fired 2moro. but i'm just a caual fan who we shouldnt care about so what the do i know. bc finally canned spaz of being a HC, the $ issue got so bad there that they were recruiting donations for puck and flipping them to fball. when ppl found out they wrote on the check for puck or didn't even donate to puck either. i'm just a couple years ahead of what all the clowns here will do eventually. but me and my money decisions for now.

I don't see how that's not a good hire. If you were a coordinator at Florida, Urban Meyer thinks you're good, and you've won at Temple (Temple!), exactly whom does either BC or us think we're getting that is going to be a better fit? And don't give me ridiculous names like Petrino.

We'll see how he does, but as much as I hate BC that seems to me like a pretty safe hire.

I never had a season ticket. If everyone else dumps, my chance to get a good seat!

I wasn't thinking of Petrino. But there certainly are young coaches out there with dynamic offensive minds.

MIght there be someone out there who would in the end do a better job? I'm sure there is. But for every one of them there are three or four Kragthorpes.

Rumors were Addazio was very interested in UCONN job. Unfortunately, he took Temple jobe before FCRE stated he was leaving for Maryland. Just absolutely horrific timing.

Too bad we're stuck with a semi-Kragthorpe for another year.

He was very interested. It was bad timing for everyone. Randy should have left before the Fiesta Bowl.

Addazio was 4-7 and 2-5 in the Big East this year at Temple, so how does this make him a winner? He was 9-4 and 5-3 in conference in the MAC the year before. And, both of these years he had Golden's recruits, and he had Montel Harris, the RB transfer from BC this year! If UConn had Harris this year, I guarantee you we would be bowling.

Addazio is an OK hire, but he is not a home run hire. Look, BC hired on the cheap and did not make a splash hire. I hope that when UConn is looking for a coach, we aim higher.

Do people not understand that college football is not a video game? When you take Temple from the MAC to the Big East with no prior notice, you have not done a poor job by going 4-7. You are bringing an expansion team into a league.

Seriously, I think people don't get that all college programs don't give you the same chance to succeed because it's so easy to succeed with a UConn or a Temple in a video game.

So, Temple was 9-4 in 2009, 8-4 in 2010, 9-4 in 2011, and in 2012, they added Montel Harris and played in a weak BE. Heck, the MAC was probably better than the BE this year and Addazio went 4-7 this year. Their losses this year were by 9, 11, 25, 30, 28, 24, and 18 points.

My point BL, is that Adazzio has not proven he is a "winner" and I can ensure you that my BC friends are not happy about hiring a guy that was 4-7 last year. They think BC went cheap and Addazio was the cheap hire.

I'm not sure anyone cares if your dumping your football tickets. It has no effect on my wallet and I don't know you so I won't notice your not there. So what is the point of your post? To act like a child and say "I'm taking my ball and going home". I will be there as always.

I said SEASON tickets, not selected individual games. Maybe you'll notice the empty seats after the Michigan game. Get used to last Saturday's "crowd" for an October game And I'm not 'taking my ball and going home". Im going to subsidize something that is committed to excellence (thx to JC), not mediocrity

I'm not upset that we didn't land Addazio and personally I believe that the jury is still out on whether he can be viewed as an up and coming head coach. I neither wish him well nor harm and I am not about to be upset that he now runs the show at BC.

What still bothers me most about the coaching search two years ago was that we paid well for Neinas' services (IIRC, enough to cover an experienced college teacher's pay for a year, not a nominal amount when most schools are cutting academic staff while we are attempting to increase ours) only because JH wanted to give the appearance that he was looking at more than just Whipple and P.

I am asking seriously, not just to you, but all have decided to boycott games. Will you return at some point? (i.e. new coach/new conference). If you do, will you feel a little bad about leaving the team while it was down?

I'm not about to tell anyone what they should or should not do with their time and money but if you do end up doing this you may be better served by sending Sue Herbst an email explaining your thought process (you may even want to copy Manuel).

More room for me. I've been to games with a lot smaller crowds at Mermorial Stadium and have enjoyed myself. Win or lose I still enjoy the games.
