Duke is the clear preseason #3 next season.

Yeah, Dukies looking very good, especially Williams. SJU having trouble scoring.

In Duke's next game, they will be playing against arguably the best offensive unit in the nation. It will be a much tougher game. That matchup is one I have been waiting for. (Not to disrespect SC, but Stanford will not lose tonight.)

Yeah, I think I'd put them ahead of Stanford next year. At this point, Baylor looks like the pre-season 1, but I'd give them that only if they get to 40-0. If UConn beats them in the NC game, we start next year at 1.

EWill was the missing piece for Duke. And she probably is the #2 or 3 center in the nation--already.

I wish the Huskies could stomp the hell out of dook in the Elite Eight again. But expect Stanford to do something similar, if they can get past Carolina.

I said Duke's A game would beat St John's...and SJU's C+ game wasn't going to be enough, period.

But Duke's had a lot to do with SJU not playing close to their best game.

Duke has looked impressive in the tournament. Stanford may have their hands full.

But this is an embarassing performance by St. John's. Some of these lopsides scores between the 2 vs 3 seeds and 1 vs 4 don't reflect too well. I do hope tomorrows 1 vs 4 is a blowout though .

Other than the inexplicable NC State loss, Duke's done a good job this season beating teams it should beat.

Now the big question: can it beat an OOC opponent as the underdog?

Based only on their performances tonight you might expect Duke
to handle Stanford on Monday.

But Duke is a young team (especially in the sense that Stanford's
star is a senior and Duke's are freshmen). In a close game at crunch
time I expect Duke to be making most of the mistakes.

After Miami, St John's got the toughest deal from the committee.

Not only did they have to win at Oklahoma in round 2, but that means they didn't get back to NYC until Weds afternoon. And then had to turn around and take an 8-9 trip out to Fresno on Thurs. That's a lot of travel in a short amount of time.
