That would be a dream. UConn would kill Kentucky and there's nobody in the top half of that bracket that UConn wouldn't beat by 25.
Charlie is delusional if he thinks UT is #4 seed. I predict 8, at best, and out of the tournament at worst.

Um, exactly how many teams in the country are there that UConn can't count on beating by 25? The only potential competition is the other #1 seeds, and them not so much either. Exactly why the rest of us can't root for UConn. I could root for you if you won just as much as you do, but other teams were competitive. They aren't. Not UConn's fault, but they aren't.

Tennessee is unlikely to be out of the tourney baring a complete collapse - which I suppose could happen. For now, I think 4 seed is slightly high, but I get it. Remains to be seen, but not looking good.

Who is the last #1 seed now that Texas has been dismantled?

Got more then a month of basketball before that is decided.... who knows how many times Baylor, Maryland, Texas, Ohio State, etc... lose between now and the tournament.

.-.
Texas was not dismantled on Sunday and has at least one more shot (and as many as three more) at Baylor this season. One will be a regular season game, one would be possibly in the league tourney

The one seeds are as plain as day: UConn, ND, South Carolina, and the winner of the Big XII. Maryland and Ohio State are outside possibilities, but Baylor or Texas have better arguments for the Dallas bracket as #1s. They unfortunately can't be in the same bracket anymore, but one of them will probably be the last one seed.

The current bracket (in the link posted by Wbbfan1) has Duke as the 7th seed playing Maryland in College Park, with the winner likely getting Mississippi State. Last year, Duke beat Mississippi State in the second round, before losing to Maryland in the Sweet 16. I am sure Brenda Frese would be licking her chops to get the Blue Devils (at home, for Maryland), after Lexie Brown transferred to Duke during the offseason.

As an aside, Baylor is the #1 seed in that bracket. If Duke could make the Elite Eight, the likely opponent is Baylor, where Alexis Jones transferred.

Somewhat of a sleeper team...#3 Arizona State. The team does not have MCDAAs, but what it does have is a system, involving hockey-line substitutions, a lot of depth, and great balance. Just the type of team that no #2 seed will want to face.

Wouldn't it be awful if the LV made the dance as #16 in our bracket!
Never happen - the 14-16 seeds are always the automatic bids from the non P5, non MidMajor conferences, and I am not sure how many 'at large' teams have every been ranked below a 12 seed. If the TN resume was only good enough to be ranked as a 16 seed they would not be dancing. (Not an unpleasant thought!)

Duke best wins are against Minnesota, Iowa St, and Boston College. None of whom have even beaten or yet seriously challenge a top 25 team all year. Duke is 0-3 against top 25 competition so far. Duke also have blowout road losses to Syracuse and Louisville. As well as a home loss to NC state by 3. At this point in time Duke in elite eight should NOT be used in the same sentence. Duke in NCAA tournament is in huge jeopardy.

Duke's next three games are against Clemson, UNC and Pittsburgh.
If they win 2 out of 3, they will get back into the top 25.

They should win all 3!!!!

But you can never tell what may happen.

I wanted to ask Duke fans where the outrage is - Charlie Creme basically talked about the facts of Duke this year and how they have lost games and in his opinion, they may be in danger of missing the tourney if the slide continues. I mean, this isn't like the facts that Doris Burke pointed out regarding Tennessee's 0 recruits from the top 100 in 2016.

This is pure conjecture - and he even puts in writing "could Duke miss the NCAA's for the first time in 22 years". I ask again - where is the outrage? Where are the tweets from Muffet and Jeff supporting Joanne and her team? ;)

The truth is all in the article. I'm just extremely happy someone higher up decided to say what majority of the Duke fans are seeing/saying. I'm hoping this motivates Joanne to change her approach. Highly unlikely she does, but with more articles like this maybe it will FINALLY urge Duke athletics to make a change.

Some may point to this as a down year for both Duke basketball. I believe the men will drop out the top 25 as well. But there's one difference between the 2 basketball teams. One is competitive and losses one doesn't even show up.

.-.
Bad publicity on the men's side as Coach K showed poor sportsmanship in ducking much of the handshake line - apparently because he was upset over the refs.

When TN drops out of the top 25 for a week and ends their longest-ever streak of 561 straight weeks, then UCONN can start catching up - we will need 139 straight weeks after that happens to set the new record.

I wonder if South Carolina was considered the overall #1 since they have a cakewalk to the FF. That is by far the easiest bracket.

UCONN- Stanford in the round of 16....redemption, redemption, redemption!!

I assume you say that because you think Kentucky as a 2 in UCONN's bracket is a better team than OSU as a number 2 in USC's bracket. Kentucky can't play in the Lexington Regional and the Bridgeport Regional is in UCONN's backyard so he probably figures the nearly home crowd trumps a slightly better (very slightly) opponent.

If Duke does fail to make the tournament will it cost McAllie her job? My apologies to Duke fans if I spelled her name wrong.

After the gigantic egg Kentucky laid tonight against a really awful Mississippi team, do you still think Kentucky would be tougher than Ohio St? Despite the beatdown UConn gave Ohio St. earlier this year they're a much better, and more dangerous, opponent than Kentucky.
