Love the kid, and think he'll be a great player, but I get kind of tired of him acting like a sweet heart every time they lose a game. "Just gotta stay positive, everything will be alright".

He's so soft out there at times. You know, *k it, he's soft all the time. This Marquette team is a squad he should have been able to dominate on the boards and he got four rebounds. He doesn't even attempt to box out, he rarely ever seals his man in the post, and he shoots that fall away time after time after time even though it has zero chance of going in.

At least Oriakhi has shown some signs of getting angry and bullying his man. Drummond just looks like a *king deer skipping through the forest of candy sometimes. Get pissed off for once. I really want some rich guy on this board to just buy front row tickets, heckle him constantly all game, and challenge his man-hood. Make it personal. That might get him going.

couldn't agree more. I know he got in foul trouble but there's no reason why he shouldn't dominate a team who's tallest player is 6'7". Man up kid

Today, while in the crowd, there were times where i found myself screaming at the top of my lungs "GET MAD ANDRE, GET MAD" ...he never got mad. Again - those jump shots are a total insult to his game. There was a point in the game where we were down 6ish and we had possession. I think he took two jump shots, one being close to the top of the key, and I felt like that totally deflated whatever momentum the team built up to that point; not to mention deflated his attitude. He definitely needs an attitude check. He sulks around on the court on a persistent basis, it's like he's sleep walking out there. It's a shame - today should have been one of those games like he had during the second half of Cuse. When something goes wrong, it kills his attitude to win. Foul trouble was tough today.

At least he dribbled today during his foul shots....the results weren't any better but his shots were close and passsed the eye test. One was soft enough to hang around the rim for a while before it rolled out. If he keeps up that approach he will improve.

He needs to learn a basic move. The drop step. He has to start learning how to make post moves TOWARDS the basket. He is very finesse so he should even try the quick spin right to the basket. Something besides this fadeaway jump shot or hook shot because thats just not his game.

It is up to him. If he truly wants to be a serious player, he is going to have work harder and actually learn the game. Rebounding is effort and right now he is not an effort player.

You know, I see him before every single home game joking around, trying out new dunks. Where's the motivation for working on post moves? What happened to practice what happens during a game? It's disappointing seeing him do that before each game rather than saying to himself "I'm going to be a beast today - the inconsistency stops today."

He should run 16s for every shot attempt he takes that isn't a dunk.

The best I've seen him play was in the second half of the SU game before he got hurt. He went to the basket hard and he posted up low. When he does that there is not anyone in the country that can stop him. Not even Anthony Davis.

I agree. As long as the guy is shooting 33% on free throws, he has no business taking any jump shot in a game. If you can't make uncontested shots from the line and brick them, what do you think you're shooting percentage on jump shots will be? I suspect in the single digits or teens.

I think he was better in the WVU game than the Cuse game personally.

The 2 jump shots he took when we had some momentum going was one of a few things that killed us. For all the crap that other guys on this team get, Drummond was a no show today.

To do what, either throw up a brick or get fouled and miss 2 FTs? He will be a good player in 2-3 years when he develops low box moves and some straight up game, but we'll never see it @ UConn unfortunately.

I like him, he plays hard generally and is likeable. Team is missing more without a true 3 and forcing Lamb to play the 3 with Shabazz & RB. Gosh it'd be nice to have gotten Moe.

Haha. Davis is 10x the college player AD is, maybe not at the next level, but Davis is a much more complete player right now. Just as good or better onthe defensive end, but understands the game better, finishes better, has some post game, etc.

I know. But if Andre did those things with his size and athleticism he would body Davis because he is bigger than him. If he tried to post him up to high than yeah. Davis would shut him down.

Anthony Davis wouldn't be able to stop Drummond when he goes up strong and posts up well. The consistency isn't there though so that's why Davis is a better college player right now and would probably consistently beat Drummond if they were to match up.

AD is a good kid who needs a bad cop among his "people". On the other hand, what motivation does he need if he to be unproductive yet remains the No. 2 overall pick in the draft? I guess the only thing anyone could say to him at this point is that if he floats through the next three years in the NBA like he has this season he will never get a big-time payoff.

I would say Drummond matches up pretty well with Davis because he weights a lot more than Davis. It's not inconceivalbe to think Drummond could be a better player than Davis ast some point, but I wouldn't bet the house on it. Davis seems to have a lot more polish, a much better feel for the game, better instincts, and the unwillingness to back down from anybody that I just don't see in Drummond.

These guys will be compared a lot, but right now there is none.

Usually Calhoun can be counted on to be the "bad cop", but even Calhoun appears to be treating him in a very gentle manner compared to others. We need a 69 year old Calhoun to be wheeled out in a cart for the Cuse game, in excruciating pain, then to say, "Boy, I'm 69 and my back is breaking down, but I bet I could still take you in a fight, ya big !"

That would get him going.

Kid needed a better high school coach. Simple as that.

4 years in High School, the last one being the best big man prospect in the country, and he didn't master the post up, catch, baby hook move, which should be his bread and butter.

Shame on our coaching staff for not telling him: "you want to shoot the turn around, fade away, you do it on your own time. When you wear the white and blue, you don't shoot that garbage."

Good point. His high school coach sucked. It's embarassing that he was there for four years and came to UConn without a respectable low post game.

I asked a couple of weeks ago about Jere Quinn on this board and heard crickets. Throwing the topic out again.

Don't know much about him, but wasn't he the guy who coached Aju Aju Deng as well? He wasn't exactly very developed himself.

I still say the Drummond should be coming off the bench. He and Oriakhi should not play together. To be effective on offense, they both need to play close to the basket and when they're in the game together they have no spacing. I think Shabazz should come off the bench too.
