What would surprise you more?

1. His original announcement coming to UConn
or
2. His 2nd announcement returning to UConn

I must say his original although it would be close. I never expected he would be in a Husky uniform this season. But its weird that I feel that way all over again.

Who knows but I will not find it a big surprise if he comes back. He has said so twice publicly. That could change, of course, but if there was ever a kid who needed to stay in college and take his time, it is Andre.

I think his coming back will hinge on a few points. 2 most importantly. 1. Does Calhoun come back, and 2. Will Uconn be ineligible for the 2013 NCAA tourney. I feel the 2nd is the more important one. If Connecticut is not eligible, then why does he come back? He can get seasoning by either going to Europe or playing in the D-League. Yes he needs more work. That is a given, but there is nothing to play for, then why put yourself at risk? Get paid, learn, and play.

I understand that the NCAA tourney has become all that matters in college basketball.....but just because a team is eligible doesn't mean they make it or have a great run. There is some value to a developing player in the BE regular season. If Drummond and his folks think another year in college would greatly improve his game and overall future then maybe he comes back, regardless of a ban.....if they see the instant big $ a top 3 pick gets as being to good to pass up then he's gone.

He can step out now and make a lot of money. He can come back and improve his game and then go and make more money.

Loads of room for improvement......loads.......

Dummond quote from the Hartford Courant article:

http://www.courant.com/sports/uconn-men/hc-uconn-men-follow-0317-20120316,0,5962545.story

"We have so much talent sometimes that we don't know what to do with it," Drummond said, defining this UConn season as well as anyone could. "All we have to do is channel it the right way throughout the summer, get a feel for each other even more. I have no doubt in my mind we'll be back here again."

I know it doesn't mean a heck of a lot but he sure has talked like he is coming back.

I was watching Sullinger for OSU and he made three moves for baskets at the end of their game today. Drummond NEEDS to learn just two moves and he will be so much better.

I hope Andre is watching some of the bigs work in this tournament. He might be able to pick up a few tips about what to do with the ball when he gets it in the low post.

How about Drummond being around for 3 years? Wouldn't that be sweet?

Love to have him back from another year. I think he would make that next step that we all know he can do.

I used to be all for players staying... but if you're going to be a high lottery pick... then go. The risk is to great.... you get injured in college and you get nothing.

I wish the NBA handled their minor league a bit more like major league baseball does. While the success of some former NBDL players has made it more of a viable option... it still has some stigma attached to it.

Drummond would definitely qualify for a seven-figure injury insurance policy from the NCAA or Lloyd's of London. He should max out on insurance and come back for another year.

I'll be more surprised if he leaves than if he stays. He's said all along he's coming back, and I think he knows he needs work.

Exactly. He has athletic gifts that few have and he needs the coaching and the work. He's a smart kid so let's see what he does.
