Yeah yeah, no one's trying, but he's still tearing it up on 16 and 7 so far

17 and 11 on 7-10 shooting, 3-4 from the line in the first half. Way to go.

I'm sure I just jinxed him.

If they give MVP to Waiters or THJ, I'll be pissed (though they were highly entertaining)

Andre Drummond is a freak of nature and he's f'in 20-years-old. Kid is going to do wonders for this program - he's not too far way from being a 20 and 15 type guy and the best two-way big men in the league. He's also extremely personable and a proud representative of the University and the state. Was he probably going to be a stud wherever he went? Yes. And yeah, it sucked that he was only here for one year and it was a huge disappointment, but his value to the program is just so much more far-reaching than anything that happened in the two minutes he played on the court. From a marketing and recruiting perspective, he's going to be the Ray of this generation.

Drummond SHOULD be an all-star reserve this year. Noah beat him out strictly because of his household name. Look at the numbers, I won't bore you with them but check them out yourselves.....Andre is clearly having the better year, and he got stiffed out because hes a 2nd year player. Unfortunate that the coaches vote comes down to a popularity contest, like the fan vote does for starters, but Noah is on the all-star team strictly because of who he has been the past few years. (And also because he apparently leads the Bulls in assists this season? Always good when your center leads that category.....) Well step aside Joakim, this WILL be your last all-star appearance. Its Drummond time. The future is coming.

It wasn't Drummond (he wasn't ready as a frosh for sure) or Lamb that helped achieve that disappointment…………they were fine. Not great but better than some returning vets who quit on the team.

Great to see Andre maturing, and becoming a stud as many expected. Good for him and the Huskies too…...

Lamb averaged 17.7 points and 4.9 rebounds on 48% shooting. He got crap because the team wasn't good, and the most clutch player was Shabazz (not him). But the kid played very well in a number of big games in the year.

As for Drummond...yeah, I agree. I don't think we used him well, and I don't think a lineup of him and AO made that much sense. They each crowded the lane and hurt each other's development. But Drummond always played hard, and almost averaged a double double in Big East play.

Noah is a better player than Drummond right now. He's a better defender than Drummond at this point, he's one of the best passers in the league at the center position, if not the best, and he's just generally a much more refined player at this stage (and probably the main reason a depleted Bulls team is still somehow two games over .500). Drummond will be one of the most dominant players in the league in time, but for now a guy like Noah deserves the nod.

Do you watch NBA games? Noah is clearly a better player right now, and has played at an absurdly high level since Deng was traded.

Moses Malone is a great comparison to Drummond. The good thing is that the nation (at least those who watched) now knows his name! Detroit's got to commit to surrounding him with good talent.

Absolutely, having Drummond for a year was a big positive overall for UConn. The main problems IMHO with the 2011-12 team were that Lamb/AO/RS didn't really accept Bazz as the leader and AO/RS were very unhappy in their roles with emergence of AD. Drummond had to play but Calhoun probably could have worked the rotation better to keep everyone happy.

Yeah I agree. The main problem that year was Calhoun. I'm sure it's an unpopular opinion but that was not his best performance. We got zoned all year and had no answer, keeping AO at the high post was absurd. Drummond would have flourished with many other teams but I'm extremely thankful he came to Uconn, as he will be a terrific ambassador.
