Yeah yeah, no one's trying, but he's still tearing it up on 16 and 7 so far
It's also showed we underachieved with Drummond and Lamb, but ole we'll we're Uconn
Lamb averaged 17.7 points and 4.9 rebounds on 48% shooting. He got crap because the team wasn't good, and the most clutch player was Shabazz (not him). But the kid played very well in a number of big games in the year.It wasn't Drummond (he wasn't ready as a frosh for sure) and Lamb that helped achieve that disappointment…………they were fine. Not great but better than some returning vets who quit on the team.
Drummond SHOULD be an all-star reserve this year. Noah beat him out strictly because of his household name. Look at the numbers, I won't bore you with them but check them out yourselves.....Andre is clearly having the better year, and he got stiffed out because hes a 2nd year player. Unfortunate that the coaches vote comes down to a popularity contest, like the fan vote does for starters, but Noah is on the all-star team strictly because of who he has been the past few years. (And also because he apparently leads the Bulls in assists this season? Always good when your center leads that category.....) Well step aside Joakim, this WILL be your last all-star appearance. Its Drummond time. The future is coming.
Do you watch NBA games? Noah is clearly a better player right now, and has played at an absurdly high level since Deng was traded.Drummond SHOULD be an all-star reserve this year. As for Drummond...yeah, I agree. I don't think we used him well, and I don't think a lineup of him and AO made that much sense. They each crowded the lane and hurt each other's development. But Drummond always played hard, and almost averaged a double double in Big East play.
Absolutely, having Drummond for a year was a big positive overall for UConn. The main problems IMHO with the 2011-12 team were that Lamb/AO/RS didn't really accept Bazz as the leader and AO/RS were very unhappy in their roles with emergence of AD. Drummond had to play but Calhoun probably could have worked the rotation better to keep everyone happy.
