He is clearly gone. I wonder why there was no "official" announcement today. He has been accepting and retweeting congratulations for turning pro all afternoon. There is even one from Roscoe Smith. Kinda strange. I hope for his sake, he follows in the footsteps of Andrew Bynum and not all of the other big mean with big upside who left too early and never got that second contract.

Oden's situation is entirely injury related though. It has nothing to do with him leaving college too early. And as you mentioned, he can barely run, hasn't really even played, and he STILL got a second contract.

Thabeet second contract (which may or may not happen) has little to do with him leaving early. He wasn't getting better in one more year at UConn.

Thabeet is still on his 1st contract, and I'm pretty sure Oden's one year tender after his rookie deal expired was voided after he had to have another knee surgery.
