I've listened to Cosmologists on this for so long and they are convinced we will never be visited in our lifetime. Based on what they know about the universe. This is why I always veer toward military weaponry. It's not that there aren't billions of planets out there with life, but relatively speaking, the universe is so young that the prospect of anyone visiting us is nearly impossible unless you've defeated the laws of physics.
I'm not really a big believer but there are plenty of halfway decent arguments to get around the distance issue.

The gofast video was an actual leak from the pentagon covered by the ny times. The government has acknowledged it's a real video and released it themselves after the leak. It's from way before deepfakes were a thing.
The automobile was invented less than 150 years ago and now we are planning missions to mars. Amazing to think about another civilization having a million year head start on us or even just 10 thousand years. I don’t know anything about physics but I do think anything is possible when it comes to space travel.
The big thing (from my memory) the telescopes discovered seemed to be that some parts of the universe are expanding at much different rates from other parts. That changes a lot.
I follow this stuff too but in terms of the expanse, the rate of expansion and travel, it's all the same. Im not saying they haven't found elements etc.
If it was from ET, why only in the past years since our technology has jumped dramatically, and not 40 years ago when our technology was much more limited…..
