Dream @ Lynx - 8/05/18

Minnesota needs to stop their slide at home. I think this will be a close one. Tiff and Maya are matched up a lot.

With 3:40 left in 1Q, Tiff puts the ball on the floor, spins and spins again, and takes the ball to the hoop for a right-handed layup.

Game was tied at 31 in Q2, now the Dream are up 49-34 at halftime. What happened?

Tiffany Hayes happened. She has hit several treys and has 17 points.

In conjunction w/ Minnesota stopped scoring apparently.

Looking at box score it appears Fowles and Augustus aren't getting enough help from the other 3 starters. Whalen and Brunson are scoreless and Maya is having another subpar game. She's too good to be struggling like this.

Maya is shooting reluctantly and poorly. She looks as if something is off, but I don't know what.

Atlanta is quick and they can outrun other teams, especially Minnesota.

Maya is warming up, but the deficit looks too large.

Minnesota has lost 3 straight, 2 were blowouts. Whalen and Brunson remained scoreless for the game, combined 0-8 from the floor in 25 combined minutes (only 11 and 14 minutes for a pair of starters?). Moore did score 15, 11 in the 2nd half. They fought back from their poor start this season but now they're looking more like they did out of the gate.

Hayes finished with 28 points, Bentley had 19 off the bench.

Tiff didn't care for the ASG snub. She drained 6 rainmakers tonight. Atlanta is still the 2nd place team. Minnesota is still 7th.

Brunson left for injury. Lindsay is a proud player with a great history, but she looks out of shape.

Minnesota is still 7th.

Weren't they in 3rd place before the loss to LA?

Only she can decide when to retire, but she's a pale shadow of her former self and most D1 head coaches consider that a full time job. I'm expecting this is going to be her swan song.

Minnesota dropped from 3rd to 7th in 2 days--the losses to L.A. and Seattle. Very compressed standings!!

Maya Moore hasn't looked very good to me in games I've seen this year. Doesn't have the same smoothness/confidence in her shot and has a tendency to disappear in games. Hayes has been fantastic all season. She deserves to be on an All-WNBA team if the season ended today.
