So I had a funny, vivid dream last night.
In my dream there was a clearance sale of UConn apparel in Storrs due to an update and I attended. They had a meeting before to roll out the new uniforms. The uniforms said "UConn" or "Connecticut", but no Husky logo or word "Huskies" logo were on anything. I raised my hand to ask about this and the athletic director or president who was speaking said the change was permanent. She said the woman who originally was behind choosing the Husky, had a racist past and that continuing the use of the Husky would inadvertently honor her. After that I went to the sale. The funny part of the dream was that fist fights between outraged students on either side of the argument, both male and female, were breaking out everywhere across campus.
I am one sick person apparently. However, imagine how crazy it would be if it was ever announced that we'd no longer be the UConn Huskies? I couldn't even think of an alternative mascot.
