Huge night for the future of the league. Obviously I want to see the Knicks land #1 but I wouldn't mind Atlanta or Dallas. Please no Phoenix, Cavs. And please make Bilas go away.
Griffin is insane for thinking there is any chance Davis is coming back. That was probably as big a development as there could be for the offseason. Small market teams like the Pelicans need to win the draft to compete, and the Pelicans had the added problem of their superstar having given up on the franchise. A front court of AD, Randle and Zion would be pretty good, and may be enough to keep AD interested in New Orleans. I don't think Zion will be the greatest player in the history of basketball like the hype says, but he should produce immediately and be a solid player developing into an all star with hard work and a little luck.
If this takes AD off the trade block, which it might, then a lot of offseason strategies will be impacted.
We won't see the 76ers type tank again. A lot of late lottery teams are going to tank to get in the top 9. 9th worst team has a 26% chance of a top 4 pick. 10 has 14%. 14 has 5% chance.I wonder how teams approach tanking next year, still use the same approach and treat this as a one off or realize that with these new odds you can get "screwed" majorly.
