WTIC AM and WILI. The media guide claims "Other stations will join WTIC on the UConn
IMG Sports Radio Network in 2013," we'll see.

Not what we need trying to draw fans in the SW part of the state!

An offense that doesn't score TDs. Boring at stadium. Boring on TV. What must it sound like on the radio. Score some points. Make the game exciting.

It sounds like Joe D'Ambrosio, just like the basketball games.

Living down here on the NY/CT border its really fustrating that I cannot listen to Uconn BB and FB on the radio unless I turn on my computer and use www.wtic.com. Of course, the computer option fell behind the cbs paywall last year, so actually that is no longer available either. I know Warde has a lot on his plate, but we really need to have a radio presence in FF lower county, particularly if we are going to sell Uconn as the flagship of CT, premiere public university of NE and influential in the NYC DMA.

Yes. UConn Stamford should establish a campus radio station, if none of the commercial channels will carry UConn.
nice idea in the long run....it might take a while however....my perception is that stamford-uconn is still a little on the small side for such endeavors.... then again, it would fit nicely with Stamford's growing tv/media cluster.

I used that option in Paris one weekend about 5 years ago. Was great except it happened to be a night game and I ended up awake all night.

It must have been torture to be up all night in Paris. I can think of worse things. :D

IMG would be the bad guys in this situation. They signed a bad deal -- helping keep UConn financially afloat for the time being, between that and Big East exit fee $$ -- and now are asking usurious fees to carry the games. If the smart guys at IMG had helped in CR. . . . . .oh well.

Lol. It was the day before Lehman blew up. I had a morning flight to Bangalore. So I slept on the plane. But wasn't as much fun as it should have been.

Years ago did work at Lehman president Richard Fuld's house in Greenwich when he was CEO of AMEX. Spoke to him on the phone - nice guy.

The UConn radio station 91.7 WHUS carries the game and is free to stream. Being students they are not as good as Joe D but you can stream anywhere.

Exit4 I have been screaming about this for years since I relocated down this way from Eastern CT! At least last yr IMG finally put them on Satellite radio. Until the UCONN Athletic Dept realizes they need to market themselves to any place south and west of Hartford County things will not change!

its a big oversight by the university. they need a billboard on I-95 in somewhere between Gwich and Norwalk that says 'Welcome to UConn Country' and we need that terrestrial radio coverage down this way. its annoying listening to Syracuse, Fordham or Rutgers radio spill over on the local dial from NYC/northern NJ stations. while i'm on it, the ESPN New York page should include UConn in their college links section http://espn.go.com/new-york/

Nice to know there is someone else on the BY who notices the same things I do! I have been harping about that same stuff for a few years on here! FYI my wife and I go to Buffalo Wild Wings in Port Chester to watch away games. They always have UCONN on there.

For me it was Milan in 2006. Went to bed a 4:00 a.m.

To get back on WICC they would have to buy the time. That's what Sacred Heart has to do.

I was on 91 for the first time in a long ass time and there was a huge billboard for POST(WATERBURY) UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL. I didn't even know they had a football team so I looked it up and apparently they participate in something called "sprint football" where athletes must be under 172 lbs and have less than 5 percent body fat.

I personally have never been influenced by a billboard to do anything. (except maybe one for that quaint little gentleman's meeting place off exit 68 on 84.) But my point is that UConn can't really cry poverty in marketing if POST is shelling out money for billboards.

Is there any evidence that billboards give a positive ROI. They are expensive and you said it yourself they don't influence you.

I guess I know Ke$ha is at a casino tomorrow because I saw it on 84 but I can't imagine the people who want to see Ke$ha are sitting in traffic on 84.

It creates brand awareness. Your already aware, so its less effective on you. Is it really a good investment? Depends on the cost - in part and the goals in mind. I think it might be if the goal is to generally boost the university's connection to lower FF county in all different ways.

I was referring to his comment that billboards don't generally influence his behavior. They don't influence mine.

If they don't get someone to come to a game what good do they do? They aren't cheap - they can't be chalked up to awareness with no return.
