With so many Uconn players stepping up and having great seasons so far this year, I feel like Dorka has gone a little under the radar, especially missing a bunch of games early in the season, but she's quietly having herself a spectacular season. In fact, two advanced metrics in winshares/40 minutes and net rating (offensive rating minus defensive rating) have her as our best player. Dorka has the highest winshares/40 minutes at .45 with Edwards second at .4 and Azzi third at .39. Dorka's net rating is a whopping 50.4 with Edwards also second at 40.1 and Aubrey 3rd at 37.7. Dorka is also 3rd in player efficiency rating behind Fudd and Edwards. The advanced metrics also have Dorka as our best defensive player by some margin.

Advanced metrics from herhoopsstats:

Dorka's production has also been very impressive. She ranks in the top 15 among big east players in every major statistical category. Here are her averages per game and where they rank in the big east:

Points: 13.3/15th
Rebounds: 11.4/2nd
Assists: 3.6/9th
Steals: 1.4/10th
Blocks: 1.8/2nd
Assists/TO Ratio: 2.2/4th

Three point shooting is just about the only thing Dorka hasn't done well this year, where she is 3-19 for the year. If you take out the 3 ball attempts, her field goal percentage would be 55% which would rank her 3rd in the big east behind her teammates Edwards and Griffin. Comparing Edwards, who is having a player of the year type of year, to Juhaszs' season averages side by side, Dorka is actually beating Edwards in every category except for points and percentages.

No one's really talked about Dorka as a potential all-American this season, but if she stays healthy and continues on her current trajectory, would argue that she should certainly be in the conversation, as well as big east defensive player of the year. She is definitely deserving of more national recognition with the way she's played so far this year. I love Dorka!

Yeah, Dorka is having a pretty decent season. I think that with her being out for a while with her injury and Aaliyah, Lou, and Nika having such impactful seasons, Dorka got lost in the sauce. We all know her value to the team. As for All American and defensive player conversation, it is a good conversation to have.

I really enjoy watching Dorka play and the contributions that she makes with the Team. Last year, she made it to the Final Four but did not get to play because of injury. This year a thumb injury was a set back but a very unhealthy Team has held back much of the success. It is too bad that she will not be here next year if and when Paige and Azzi will be able to play together.

Also a huge Dorka fan..love the energy she brings..as far as AA there are just too many players ahead of her..hadn't thought about BE defensive POY..that's interesting..I think if Uconn had her for the ND and Maryland games they would be undefeated right now
I am concerned about her staying healthy..last year broken wrist this year broken finger ..I cringe everytime she hits the floor because she plays so hard

Love the season Dorka is having particularly her increased physical play. Indirect benefit of Dorka's season is demonstrating to other top-level transfers the benefit of playing for UConn. With increased skills comes higher draft position and more $ in future.

Ok as the last 8 games have clearly demonstrated what Dorka can do, I did an analysis of her tOSU stats along with her 2 years of UConn stats to see and the results this year are remarkable. Dorka is playing the best hoop of her career right now and seems to have figured out the "UConn system". The stat that just jumps out at me is her assist to turnover ratio (42-21) which for a "big" is truly impressive. Her other great stat is her "Efficiency ratio" at 24.5 that puts her in elite company across the nation. She's even better than Aaliyah (24.3) at that. She's 7th when compared to the big name players-Angel Reese-36.8, Maddy Siegrist-31.5, Caitlin Clark-30.4, Morrow-26.5, Holmes-26.4, Kitley-25.5. To me, she has gone under the radar and will be huge for us in upcoming games vs. Tennessee, SC and in the NCAAT and is huge reason for optimism.

Knew when Dorka transferred she was going to be an important player. Just took a little longer than most expected.

We indeed are fortunate Dorka came to UConn. Will miss er when she goes but will wish her all success as a pro.

Thanks to all the posters with these interesting stats. This is just more evidence (beyond the old school "eye test") that UConn has the best trio of bigs in the nation. South Carolina and Stanford of course would be in the mix regarding the best. However, I think the defense of the UConn trio is pushing them ahead of the others. Edwards is on a mad dash to stardom with her numerous steals. Aubrey is the fastest and most intimidating defender that I have seen this year. She gets her hands on so many passes they are hard to count. And Dorka has improved her footwork and speed to a point where she is harassing guards at the top of the key. Dorka is the ultimate team player and is a force to be reckoned with.

I agree that had she been available UConn would likely be undefeated. She has certainly made her mark this year.

I think she's a better player now than she was at tOSU. We've challenged her more, and she's responded to the challenge. That's just an eye-test statement, not a stats-based statement.
