We are having our freshmen lovefest but in the Marquette game the juniors played really well. If they do the same tonight, UCONN will be in good place.

Yeah Liv had most of her points, assists and rebounds in the 1st half when the game was decided, eh?
She is the key to the [much] improved team ball-movement while roaming the hi post area and sets [by far] the most screens for Paige's pull-up jumpers in the lane!

Who are we playing tonight??? I guess I'll have to record The Super Bowl. ;)
Juniors are fine and getting credit, it's just not often you get freshmen that contribute as much as this years bunch.
Agree with Jingo I like Liv high especially when AH is down low it seems to give the offense more options.

Would be great if Liv and Christyn have representative games tomorrow eve.
I never worry about E

I like Liv and Christyn but the difference between last years team and this year is the increased basketball IQ on the floor. which comes from E, Paige, Nika. I think Christyn and Liv struggle in this area which is why they can be inconsistent. It just come natural for the other 3. it also allows them to not have to think about it as much

I think 90% of the so-called Basketball IQ comes directly from the coach and his staff; the other 10% comes from the players themselves, eh?
For example, I don't think that Liv decides whether or not to play the hi-post [or the lo-post], I think that decision is made by the coach(s).

Coaches make strategy but players still have to make decisions... Catch an entry pass and put the ball on the floor? Jack up a three early in the shot clock? Go under a screen on a shooter? Some kids make instinctively good decisions, some don't.

You site a good example with where Liv plays at any given point in time, however in Geno's read and react offense basketball IQ is much more important for the guards. Maybe 90% - 10% in the other direction.

What needs to be remembered is that UConn is in a different class than the rest of their league. So is the general talent level of the players on their team. They should dominate when they play league games. If UConn were just striving to win league titles it would be one thing, but they are always thinking of a Natty or at least making the final four. This means they need to set a higher standard of play for themselves than the results they have against league foe's. They have only played two non league games this year worth mentioning.
