It’s very unclear how actively we are recruiting him since we’d already be at his games regardless due to Achiuwa. Bouknight is the priority at the 2 for now.

Could just be Pitino hearing rumors and being super paranoid though.. definitely wouldn’t put it past him

DePaul hasn't spent $200,000 on their entire program in the last twenty years. The idea that DePaul would offer $200,000 to one player is highly dubious.

Jokes are never funny when explained, but: Chicago is a hub of the heroin trade, e.g. https://bbc.in/2Mk6K8T. Other schools have shoe companies pay players, as the Adidas scandal illustrates. Depaul isn't likely to have strong relations with a shoe company, so its best chance to gain a sponsor of players would be to find a local industry willing to make under-the-table payments. Ergo ...
