-> UConn may not have the resources Power 4 Conference programs have, but they could likely gather enough to keep Edwards, who has said he is “absolutely” open to staying in his home state, if they prioritize keeping him. And new coach Jason Candle, who watched from a suite, should prioritize keeping Edwards. He is the face of UConn football right now, and could be the ideal centerpiece and bridge to the new era begin next year.

Me being a Connecticut guy, it was really the culture that was built here, guys come in ready to fight,” Edwards said. “Things happen, but the sky’s the limit for UConn football. UConn football is back.

There isn’t an offensive approach that couldn’t make good use of a running back with Edwards’ speed and power, and the former state high school player of the year deserves to finish his career as one of UConn’s greatest football players. He shouldn’t be expected to take a financial hit to do it, though, so whatever the going rate in name-image-likeness money and revenue sharing turns out to be, the program should meet it. <-

He clearly wants to stay but wants what he has earned. I see zero reason why we shouldn’t pay him to keep him unless Candle has other plans. However, after watching today’s backup offense play all game, it’s hard to imagine him looking at that and thinking, “Yup, we’re good and don’t need to spend all that to keep Cam!”

Let’s keep that man home and have him finish his career as a Husky!

Open up the wallet for Cam. get it done.

Unfortunately the "whatever it takes" approach is likely not the best approach for the team as a whole. I don't like the idea of allocating most of your money in the running back position.

I don’t think you’ll find many backs that are tougher and more reliable than Cam. Every time they handed off to him on crucial downs this year, I was always confident what he’d get the yards. He always seemed to come through.

Give Cam a blank check, lifetime apizza, the Housatonic River, whatever. While I don’t see him having Skyler-like NFL potential, he is a monster for college defenses to stop, even today against an Army team that knew he was our only real scoring threat.

No way he plays today if he’s still considering coming back, give him the money he’s earned and let him be a hometown hero for one more season

We've seen a number of guys take the money and move on to supposedly better situations but, tell me if I'm wrong, most don't seem to have done much for their careers beyond college. Maybe they got a better payday but how many enhanced their draft positions?

I keep thinking guys like Cam can build a great resume here, like Skyler Bell did, without as much physical pounding as they'll experience in the B1G or the Big12 and potentially do better in the draft and have a longer career.

I posted an article a few days ago from a Nebraska site noting how high they supposedly are about Cam. They surely have the money to buy him but will he have the opportunity to shine there that he has here? Will he be featured? Will his body handle the pounding of 8 or 9 B1G games?
