I remember thinking it was odd that he didn't address the crowd at GP shortly after he was hired

and maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see him at the men's hoops games either

Hathaway used to be constantly walking around and talking to people. Now I don't want him to be JH, but I would think he would be a little more visible.

"Manuel"

PS: not really bashing here, just making an observation

He was sitting next to Calhoun yesterday. Looked like Calhoun was drawing up plays and Warde was just nodding his head.

He was at the game last night sitting next to Calhoun (it was shown on TV). Also I remember seeing him at the Paradise Jam in the final game vs New Mexico.

Next to JC is correct! The guy is no dope! He's playing the harmony card with the former coach to minimize fallout from dopes like us that JC forced his hand. Maybe he can speak JC and that's why he sits next to JC most every game. I know I can't. But he is definitely doing the right thing pr wise to show there is no tension between the AD and the HOF coach as damage control for the KO hire and the contract duration.

BTW! I don't care if I understood one out of every ten sentences JC says. If he invited me to sit next to him during a game I'd be one happy dude!

Wish he would communicate more with the fan base. Have yet to hear his vision for UConn athletics. He's been pretty quite since the ACC decision.

it seems like the camera's have shown him at literally every game this season outside of VI, in which he showed up for the last game, not sure how you're missing his fat head usually sitting next to Calhoun

.-.
Be fascinating to hear what Calhoun is saying to him at games. If he wants to evaluate KO, he's certainly got an expert sitting next to him.

During the first half he was very engaged with Calhoun, talking and it looked like Calhoun explaining various points of the game. The second half however he was occupied with his phone, and from what I saw wasn't even watching the game. At least pretend you are interested for the entire game.

There was also a couple of points in the game that Ollie was just sitting back relaxed enjoying the show, not the kind of body language I want to see from the head coach when the game is close.

always takes a while to clear your head after a knockout. I think Warde's internal dialog is something like: "Huh... wait, what just happened...Louisville?...wait, no that can't be right... them?...no, but we were...WTF?...aw shit, I'm screwed." Pretty much running in a loop. I know it ran in mine for a while.

I'm talking about home games and I'm not watching on TV

he doesn't walk around and talk to people, I used to see JH 5 times a game walking by

He should be conversing with fans. It makes sense since there are always potential donors in the stands.

Just a thought but people might want to lighten up on their personal attacks of the man now that this forum is plastered all over various UConn websites due to the fundraiser. He may wander over here and, honestly, the sophmoric crap is neither necessary or productive. Disagree if you must but be adults.

Well Hathaway would do that and every time he shook my hand I felt like he was reaching for my wallet. It was kind of uncomfortable talking to him since I always felt he had his hand out. So I'm happy to not have to do that with Warde!

He's been at the home games. As far as walking around I have no idea, I haven't been to a game.

He was at a recent Dunkin Donut opening in East Lyme.

(How'd I do with that one? ;) )

that's what I'm thinking, be a little more outgoing and personable

OK, fair enough, but he doesn't have to ask for money (while at the game)

He is not good at saying hello to donors, responding to calls, or responding to emails.

When I think of Manuel, I think of that guy that played for UNC a couple years back...

But anyways the guy is scum in my opinion.

I agree with that observation.

he spent plenty of time talking and even introducing the big donors to fans at the paradise jam..

Before one of the recent football games I was trying to sell an extra ticket near the box office. I saw Manuel heading towards the press entrance and went over and shook his hand and offered him good luck in his job. I also, in a very non-threatening way, indicated that I was pleased that he saw fit to hire Kevin Ollie and that I was sure KO would do a fine job and I hoped he would be with us for years to come. I also emphasized that KO was like family to us UConn fans. He agreed and said thank you. Now if I spoke to Manuel now after our 6-1 start, perhaps I would have been more threatening! lol
