It's obvious that in this round, the be was the carcass to be picked at and left for dead. It was the weakest conference and easiest to go after. There is no doubt that the intent was to reduce the be to nothing, and grab its share of the BCS monies.
In 12 years the acc will be in the exact same spot except the stakes will be higher. The sec and big10, both of which will possibly look to expand will go after the acc.
It's possible, the only thing to keep the acc in the 'big 5' next round is to include the be in the big six...
