Sean Connery in the Presidio. Also try: Spencer Tracy/ Ernest Borgnine in "Bad Day at Black Rock."

I have never been hit in the throat, but can only imagine it is very painful. As a kid, I once saw a hockey game -- the old Springfield Indians from days long past -- and the team's star defenseman, Bob McCord, was so enraged by something an opposing player did that he did not even bother dropping his gloves. He hauled off and slugged the guy, missing his face and nailing him in the throat, The guy dropped like a felled tree. Yeah, my best guess is it hurts like hell.

Yes, it's extremely painful to get hit in the throat. I don't suggest trying it out.
Ask Shea Ralph ---a Hampton player gave her a fore arm to the throat---(after Shea gave her a shot--unnoticed by many)

A serious forearm to the throat can be very harmful--vertebra damage, esophagus damage (breathing swallowing.

Thought about it while driving this morning and decided to lightly use my hand to hit my throat, and as light as it was, it hurts a little, so I can only assume that during a game when arms are swinging, intentionally or not, if someone cut you on the throat, it would REALLY hurts and startles you.
