What are your wishes on this? Do think it would be fun to do or not? If you are in the affirmative, would appreciate your input on the best way to determine the winners for the season. Probably lots of ways to do that....would like to see if we can form a useful consensus. Am not gonna bother with this unless enuf of you would enjoy it. Quite a nice number of folks have competed in the game-by-game score prediction threads, and many others have "watched" those competitions.

Want to be clear at the outset that I'd need help from some volunteers to put this together, once you've decided on a format/consensus for scoring the competition. My guess would be that we'd need about twenty folks ( though surely the more the merrier) to take a couple of games each: the task would be for every volunteer to go back thru the game-by-game results for just a couple of games and note which predictors performed at which level (MOV winner, those who were one off winner, two off winner, and three off winner). Will check in from time to to time for you input.

Looks like we won't need Carnac on this one, eh? Do have one serious question though, especially given that we had a record number of predictors along with a record number of views (am referring to the score prediction threads only) this last time around (South Carolina), which suggests pretty high interest in the prediction competition. Why no interest in crowning top guns for the season as a whole???

Have gotten some email response to the post above, with two findings of note: someone has volunteered to come up with most, though not all, of the DATA we would likely need, thus eliminating the need for as much volunteer help as had been figured in the post above. Secondly, there is an initial suggestion offered for a METHOD of determining the season's best predictors.

That and KAIZENS lonely "Like" above, is all we have thus far. Am fine with just letting this go, but would appreciated any feedback to the question posed in the first paragraph here.
