Not that I don't mind having a week off of this season, but this is our third bye week. I thought there were only two usually.

BYEs So far - after Towson, after Buffalo, after UCF

I think this is new. I can't remember three. It extends the season and brings in more TV revenue. As a fan I don't mind, the seasons always went by too quickly anyway.

The college schedule is becoming more like the NFL, next years champion will have to play 15 games.

Does it take into consideration which week you start? Like teams that did not play the first eligible week, is that a bye week?

It depends if a team has a game scheduled the first weekend of Decemeber. In UCONNs case this would give them 3 bye weeks.

You're alllowed 12 regular season games. If you start in August & end the first week in December, it's entirely possible to have 3 bye weeks. The situation will be remedied in the AAC once membership is at 12 allowing for a conference championship game.
