My father passed away at the age of 62 from pancreatic cancer this past August. He was the most incredible person in the world, and the biggest UConn fan. Oh, and he HATED Duke. He is the reason why I bleed blue. His one rule growing up was "you can do anything in life, but you can never root for Duke, or attend Duke."

When Mullins took that shot, I have to believe that he was there to guide it in the net.

Oh, and I tweeted this when we were down 19. I will never top this.

I thought of the Patriots, too.

And I was at the UConn women's game against Notre Dame earlier today. I kept paying attention to the largest lead, which kept growing as the game went on. The largest lead reached a maximum of +19 only once, with 5 minutes left -- on a three pointer by freshman Blanca, assisted by "KK A".

My mother-in-law was raised in Storrs and was a huge UConn fan - and hated Duke more than anything. She passed away early Sunday morning after a battle with cancer and while I'm very sad she didn't see this, I know she would have been so happy for everyone associated with the university. This one's for you, Mom.

Sorry for your loss. This win was delivered by the Huskies up in the Heavens - believe that!!

.-.
Very sorry to both Aburk and IF on your losses and I’m so glad that you are both uplifted by that incredible moment yesterday. And yes I believe as a non religious person that they can be connected to that moment, just don’t ask me how. We can all be thankful that they had enjoyed UConn basketball for all of their years as we continue to do so now.
