Was watching some of the Texas a n m spring game yesterday and caught a blip of his commentary. He had Louisville picked as a top five team saying they need to build on their bowl appearance vs Florida and he liked them in the top five saying they had a great chance to go 12-0. Then he further said that they armore than just teddy bridge water and they are a complete team.

The part that irritates me is he said you have to bring focus every week and you won't lose to the connecticuts and syracuses. Ok so you give us no credit for beating them other than stating they didn't come ready to play. And his co announcer didn't even offer a rebuttal Kirk did you not see the game. Louisville was beaten physically on that day. Bridgwater had nightmares about number three and if trevardo didn't get hurt it might have been worse.
Syracuse beat west virginia from a big time bcs conference pretty handedly. The propaganda has to end!

I don't know, but I like Herbstreit and I am ok with what he said. He is right. An 11-2 Louisville has to bring it every day or you will lose to a 5-7 Connecticut team at home. I would say the same thing about our Men's BBall team. If they don't bring it every day, a Rutgers/Seton Hall/Providence team could beat you.

With that being said, that is why we enjoy college football so much, no matter what is said, on any given day, you never know who is going to win.

What Herbstreit said was 100% correct. You propaganda people gotta give it a rest. The way you talk sounds like we were 9-3 last year.

What people lose sight of is that college football has a long season for these kids, and that a team in November often bears no resemblance to a team in September.

In other words, no, I don't believe Ville is a much better team.

The correct analysis would have been that UL didn't respect a team with NFL level players that had a lot trouble putting it together and allowed themselves to be physically man handled.

And of course from the NFL combine, "How did UCONN lose any games with all these talented players?"

UConn was a huge disappointment because of bad coaching. The fact that they put it together in a BIG game that BOTH teams wanted--given the circumstances--says more about the level of play in the BE than it does Herby's deluded sense of entitlement.

Ok but he threw syracuse under the bus too who had eight wins. I just don't agree with his analysis of Louisville. Not to take anything away but I don't see them going 12-0 in the AAC this year.
Also how many announcers said Florida took the day off in that bowl game because they had to play Louisville.
Was it truthful yes from a certain point of view. But he made it sound like ct was no competition and they didn't earn that win

Yeah I don't know. He said he liked Ville as a top 5 team this year. I'd love for UConn to be dissed like that.

Ville will be a better team this year barring injuries. They will probably be favored in every game.

Don't forget herbstreit went way out on a limb and picked UConn at Michigan. That game was a lost opportunity in more ways than just the final score. Herbstreit would have rubbed that in to his co-hosts all year. Oh well ...

UL plays in the BE this year, ACC bound next year. UL is never going 12-0 in the ACC.

Maybe because none of them were on offense?

Louisville outgained UConn 401-241. That's a stretch to say they were physically dominated. They threw for 374 of that. They also put together a 13 play 92 yard drive with 3 minutes left to tie.

It was a good win. But Herbstreit isn't wrong if you can blow out Florida losing to UConn at home is something you can't do.

You don't believe that Louisville is a much better football team than UConn in 2012 or 2013.

Is it prescription or recreational drug use that allows you to come to that conclusion?

Not a stretch at all. Bridgewater was whipped pretty good. Their OL couldn't keep anyone away from him. They were lucky they didn't lose in regulation.

Well they threw for 371 and outgained UConn by 160 yards. So they dominated defensively by an even greater amount.

You sound like Phil Steele.

It's not about total yards but when and how you get them.

It's actually really about points in the end. UConn gained 200 yards in regulation. To say they dominated a team that had almost double is honestly stupid. But this is a thread that contains posts that infer UConn is as good as Louisville... So it's par for the course.

Physical to me refers to te line play. Actually If they ran for 371 I would say they were more physical. Us limiting them to less than fifty running and sacking him numerous times. No matter how you want to skew it they were whooped that game.
We actually performed better than uconns average on offense that day

You are easily impressed. Neither team was very good, just like UConn wasn't very good in its championship years.

We're headed for SEC level. Should be fun. All this is only the beginning.
