David, overall always a good listen, though much of the first 10 minutes could have been chopped to 1 without much loss. Comments:

  • Doug says RPI is a good tool, then he goes on to talk a lot about the so many ways it is not a good tool. As someone who thinks that the RPI that rates UTenn as far ahead of UConn is a totally brain-damaged tool, I might ask why you didn't cut in and ask him why he thinks it's a good tool? I know Doug is ruled by the RPI in the selections to some extent and clearly his team should have been a #7 seed and not #9, and he seems to be almost crushed by the RPI sword of doom hanging over him and makes him go astray in his thoughts. No, no 60s RPI teams were selected this year at large (though LSU at 59 was close), but yes they have been on some occasions in the past, so this year had its strange stuff with Arkansas in at 6-10 in the SEC, but RPI has always been a dumb system that allows questionable teams to get in when the committee decides to pull out the RPI list. But Doug's suggestions for reforming team's schedules so that you don't have teams playing 13 of their first 14 games at home are smart, and obviously will never be heard by anyone.
  • "No one remembers that they asked a question." Classic from Doug Bruno, reflection on how the controversial stories come out this time of year. The top coaches have the questions asked them at FF time, and some of them answer honestly and sets things off. Good one, and I hope what Geno and Doug say has a good effect some time in the next century.
  • "Geno brings in players who are basket makers." Another classic, it's Basket Making 101 for Basketball for UConn as the secret course load for winning. When it comes down to it, everything just comes down to making baskets.
  • Okay, I know you have to be respectful of a NPOY candidate, but a player who goes 5-18 with 4 turnovers in the E8 deserves a lot more attention than just to say she's going through the toughest offensive stretch in her time at ND (for the tournament). There are a lot of questions revolving around Loyd's performance, but just saying she makes the other team pay attention to her is beside the point. The same thing has been happening all year, but now Allen has taken over.
  • "You know you're coming out of that alley." Another classic. DT, Sue, and Catchings from the old guard, with Griner in front (I'm assuming Maya is just too cool to be part of this gang), sounds like like a good group to lead you out of a dark passageway.
