Dishin & Swishin: Gemelos & Ely-Gash won't let ACL injuries stop their quest

Today's guess are Jacki Gemelos and Shyra Ely-Gash, both recovering from ACL injuries and hoping to catch on in the WNBA this year.

Now as the 2013 WNBA gets ready to begin, both Gemelos and Ely-Gash have a common bond, as they both try to overcome their knee injuries and earn a spot on a team roster. Not just any roster, mind you. Ely-Gash is trying to return to the defending champion Indiana Fever. Gemelos is looking to earn a spot on the team the Fever beat in the finals, the prior year’s champion Minnesota Lynx.

Sure is, and is raring to go. Can't wait to get to camp. While they have a bunch of guards in, not many with her skillset if healthy.

That's a big "if".

But I would say Whalen has her skill set. But it looks like she'll be competing with Sugar Rodgers, Lindsay Moore and Chucky Jeffery.

Would love to see her make the squad but that 11-player limit is tough. Not to mention they drafted a guard 1st round (guaranteed spot).

Poor kid. 3 times season ending injuries in the past 4 years? She's another top 1-2 recruit coming out of HS who never really made much of her time in the pros.
