A New Dishin & Swishin podcast is up!

...the success of the Minnesota Lynx over the last season and the first forty percent of this season is all the more remarkable. The team has won 40 of 48 games, a ridiculous 83 percent. Owner Glen Taylor has put together a management team in Roger Griffith and Cheryl Reeve that understands the team concept and the importance of “we” over “I,” and they in turn have assembled a team that truly cares about each other and winning more than individual achievement.

So we're talking Minnesota Lynx, with guests Maya Moore, Cheryl Reeve, Stephen Litel and Debbie Antonelli (Maya is the first interview).

Maya was 125-3 in high school.

Maya was 150-4 in college.

Maya was 27-7 as a rookie in the regular season last year and had 1 (?) playoff loss on the way to the championship.

Maya was 6-0 in the FIBA worlds.

Maya was circa 30-2 for Ros Casares.

Maya is 13-1 this season.

I think I see a pattern. Something like 360-18 over 10 years. Bill Russell and Bill Walton are envious.

Minnesota made some shrewd deals. Whatever concerns there may have been about Maya going to Minnesota have been totally erased. It has worked out quite well so far. I really like the makeup of that team.

That was the best interview I've ever had with Maya. As so many of them do, and I understand why, at UConn Maya was great at the pre-planned answer. She was open and honest, expressed her feelings on team play vs. individual accolades, discussed her faith and being a role model.

I came away more impressed than ever with the young woman, Maya Moore.

Oh, and will you look at those guns in that picture with the podcast? DAYUM!!!!

Um, I don't think there were ever any concerns about Maya going to Minnesota.

Yeah, i'm not sure what Va's point is - that Maya is simply "lucky" to have been on such good teams her entire life? that's why she's had so much success?

I totally get that hoops is a team of 5 with bench players as well. But Maya has been a superstar since early on and has LED her teams to unprecedented success. Name another player who's had so much success in high school, college, WNBA, Euro play, and US National play. I'd wager serious $ that there is no player out there who has amassed a 360-18 record in the past 10 years.
