I have heard nothing to the contrary, so I am assuming SNY will be broadcasting Uconn WBB games. If you subscribe to DirecTV and select its SportsPak to get SNY, I just wanted to let everyone know that there is a promotion now that you get SportsPak free for 3 months, and afterwards $13.99 per month. I am a long term customer, and I am sure that the promo was not just for me. Also, FYI, I had the chat guy help me as the website was like crawling through barbed wire.

I too am a long time DirecTV customer. I've had cable or satellite TV so long, I can't imagine life without it. For one thing, we'd NEVER see UConn women's basketball on TV.

I only subscribe to the "sportsPak" during the time frame they broadcast UConn women's basketball games. I've only got the "3 months free" deal once. After that, I've to pay every time which is OK. It's money well spent.

The first game they will televise will be Saturday 11/17 vs Vanderbilt. A 30 minute UConn women’s preview show airs 30 minutes before the tip. I will call DirecTV Saturday morning to have them add the sportspak to my account.

On the day of the last game they televise, I will call them (after the game) to have the sportspak removed. I record every game, and usually watch it again at least once if they win.

I never watch replays of games they lose. It was bad enough sitting through those losses once. I refuse to relive that horror a second time.

Everyday it's active on your account, you pay for it. It's prorated. I don't watch any other programing on the sportspak. If I could only get the SNY channel alone I would.

SNY is scheduled to televise 15 games this season. The remainder of the games will be carried by ESPN/ESPN3, Fox Sports 1, CBS Sports Network & The PAC 12 Network (Cal-Berkeley game Dec 22)

Tip in - unless you can access the Pac12 network through your cable provider, or you can access it through a media “stick”, you’re going to be out of luck on watching the Cal game. Perhaps a local sports bar in your area that has access to the Pac12 network, can provide a solution to this dilemma.

Scoop, perhaps I am misunderstanding your post. But you say that SNY will televise 15 games , and that the others will be carried elsewhere, That is all true, but last year every game on SNY was also on ESPN3. I cannot get SNY where I live ,and yet I still watched the SNY games on ESPN3 So I am thinking that you might not need the Direct TV sportspack if you have access to Watch Espn/ ESPN3. Now if you need it for other channels, I don't know.

I have had DirecTV for about 8 years. I literally call on game days, add SNY, then call back after the game and cancel it. I'm still using my "3 month free trial" by dealing with the hassle of calling and adding and canceling, but it's really only like 3 minutes out of my day, so whatever :)

I have had DirectV since before smoke signals for games i.e a lot more than 10 years. I usually get S.P. for the year/season. But sometime back we heard this and tried and was told there was a cancellation fee that exceeded the monthly fee-I haven't tried in such a long time, I can't verify that. I have gotten to the point in life that if the charge is fair and I like it I pay it--rather than the hassle I pay unfair charges. The irritations do more harm than the money does good.

Like Scoop, I cancel in April after six months of enjoyment. I have yet to hear about a cancel fee. In fact, I tell them I will be back to re-up in November.

I had Directv for 18 years, with the sports Package. It is fine, until something goes wrong. Worst repair service I had ever seen........dropped it.

Schedule on Huskies site says game at noon Eastern.
I keep getting confused. Eastern Time is one hour ahead of Central Time. The game starts at 11:00 CT. Thank you for the correction.

I spent almost 3 hours on live chat and on the phone with several different people at AT&T today. They are not at the top of my list.

I can’t get espn3 on my big screen tv. I can of course get espn3 on my computer, but I don’t want to watch these games on a small screen. I also like to watch other UConn pre and post game programs on sny, including the Geno Auriemma Show.

Side note - I know this is going to sound strange, but I’ve had very good luck with DirecTV. Once I get by their automated answering system, and speak to a live service representative, I find their service pretty good, including in-home service.

I upgrade my wi-fi and directv hardware every two years to optimize the product I get on my end, and keep it at a premium level.

Either get an HDMI cable for $20 (get a good one) or Chromecast for $35 (much better) and you can watch whatever is on your computer on the big screen.

FYI I was at COSTCO today and a sales guy told me about their Direct TV promo. Right now COSTCO members can get what amounts to a 38% discount for 1 year. It's a 2-year contract, so it comes out to 19% for 2 years. Their Premium package has everything - NFL Sunday Ticket (so I don't have to illegally stream non-local TV games on Reddit), YES Network (so I don't need MLB Extra Innings for $179/year to watch the Yankees), all the premium movie channels, SNY, CBSSN, etc, etc. The savings should pay for what you'd still need to pay your cable provider for Internet. I expressed concern that without net neutrality now Cox could/would slow down my internet if I cut their cable. He said that actually removing the digital TV streaming from your cable package will speed up your Internet. ??? Any experts have something to say on this?

Having YES will not get you the Yankee games. They are blacked out. We had MLB Extra Innings when we moved here so my late mother could watch the Yankees. All the pro sports are blacked out, WNBA included. Some college, but not all that much, nothing I want to watch.

Love the Sports Pack, that's why we have DirecTV, really. Very little of WBB that is on TV that we don't have the option to tape.

As to your first comment, we have ROKU. The problem with DirecTV and ROKU is that I don't get the PAC network(s). My wife found some internet service that we were able to watch an Arizona Football game last year.

As to the last comment - I have no idea if it will speed up the internet. But someone who said DirecTV service was "difficult" was telling the truth, although in-person they are fine. Also, I had a lot of Cox problems (that's my internet / phone provider) and they were able to resolve them.

Bama fan, where are you located at? If I'm not mistaken, if one lives in the tri-state area (new york, new jersey and ct), where SNY is considered "local regional sports", the only way to watch SNY/Games is for your TV provider to carry the SNY channel otherwise I do not believe one can watch the game on ESPN3/Watch ESPN.

Things are changing so rapidly nowadays, one can't figure out what's going on anymore. ESPN has introduced ESPN+, a $4.99/monthly subscription service. Looking through at the ESPN schedule, for upcoming games, games that would have been on ESPN3/Watch ESPN, in past years...the schedule shows more and more games on ESPN+. For the love of $$$!

I happen to have high speed internet at 400 mps. I use both Amazon Fire TV and Roku devices. Both streaming services have access to ESPN which provides all of the ESPN channels including ESPN 3. I can also watch CBS sports and Fox Sports. My favorite of all of the streaming channels is Turner Classic Movies, the best. (This really dates me). I found that streaming channels saves me quite a bit money per month. I come from an era when TV use to be free.

I live in Alabama, and we have both Charter Spectrum cable/internet, and a Roku stick. To my knowledge, SNY is not available on either the cable or the stick. Last year ,and in previous years, we have been able to watch almost all games on Watch ESPN/ ESPN3. I hope they do not move them to ESPN+. Our monthly expenditures on "television" services is already too high. But my wife loves all the choices!

So you can pay Direct TV for YES and still not get the Yankee games? That’s a dealbreaker - wouldn’t save me the MLB Extra Innings $$

I have had DirecTV since it was first available. At the time I lived in the DC "suburbs" in NoVa and cable was not even a discussion. I have luckily been able to watch Husky games on SNY, Texas games on the Longhorn network, some SEC and BIG10 games on their respective networks but no PAC10 games due to the ongoing conflict. Next year I believe that the ACC Network will be available. But my biggest gripe is that even though the technology continues to grow, it is still greatly affected by the weather conditions!

Comcast, my provider in MA, had sny on reg tv(small screen), and I was able to see the games but not really enjoy them... I got a ChromeStick and the sny games were on espn3, full size, but I was unable to record them. I am hoping the games are still on Espn3- Comcast now has the espn3 app build into our box so I will not have to use my ChromeStick. Comcast has removed sny from our lineup...

Just to note that it isn't DirecTV's doing - it is MLB. Only in-market games are available live.

I'm not sure what Cox would do, but DirecTV now uses the Genie 2 system and that eats up a lot of bandwith, The system works by having a single centralized box that is not physically connected to any tv. It then sends the signal via wifi to a smaller box called a client which is connected to the tvs in your house, The system is always downloading updates, new content, program guides, etc.
