Over on the men's board there is a thread titled 'Young Huskie fighting for her life'.
It is at the bottom of page one now...perhaps going to page 2 soon.

Aubrien...a 14 year old Huskie fan....and her family are in a tough situation.
Her Dad...a Boneyarder...let the men's board know about it and they have responded in
a variety of beautiful ways. The Dad's board name is: uconnsouth. He has posted some pictures and a newspaper
article describing what Aubrien and the family have been going through....they reside in Florida.

Aubrien had a huge wish to attend the UConn/Villanova game in MSG. And she got that wish...in part thanks to the board
reaching out to Director of Athletics Dave Benedict....who promptly responded with tickets for that game.
Not a good ending for UConn but for sure Aubrien and her folks loved being there.

UConnsouth has contributed to the lengthy thread with updates. It will be a long process for Aubrien but I figure the more
support she receives....whatever actions that support takes...will do nothing but help her in her fight against stage 4 cancer.

HuskyNan gave the OK to post this on our board...probably some of us don't read the men's board with quite the
...uhh...fanaticism... we do our own. Check out that thread...the men's board response combines heart-breaking and life-affirming posts.

Check it out.
Go Huskies...women and men and Aubrien!

And, RJ Cole's mom, aka, Momma Cole, offered the family a chance to meet the team at &F event, but not sure that happened. Either way, it was epic watching this unfold on twitter.

As a 2 time cancer survivor I know what a battle cancer is. Prayers and healing thoughts to Aubrien, you go girl, you will have the prayers of every BY'er on the Womens page when they read this thread. You are now my mascot along with Husky J.

Aubrien's Dad [UConnsouth] has indeed in his latest post shown a picture of Danny
Hurley's wife greeting Aubrien. The men's selection show begins at 6:00...hoping for some TV
coverage of our men's gathering and their special guest family. Maybe those few seconds on national TV would do some
wondrous things for Aubrien.

Uhh...as you know... of some of the men's fans can get a tad cranky about our women's team...some. Of course the same can be said of some of our women's fans regarding the men's team....some.

But on this issue it is 100% a UConn team effort. The men's board has done a fabulous job of backing a Boneyard family....with lots of help from the administration/coaching staff and parents.

Go UConn....women/men/Aubrien.

Very, very sad. As a very few of you may know, back around the time of the RU Final Four, Rutgers had a younger fan fighting what is considered a pediatric cancer, but very similar to the cancer described. Discovered during her freshman year of college, she gave it a good fight in an ultimately losing effort. Got a lot of support from RUWBB.

In her case, her parents created a charity called Kiers Kidz. If anyone is interested the charity is on the web, dedicated to fighting pediatric cancer.

An update here on Aubrien: This past Tuesday her Dad [UConnSouth] reported on the men's board that after
having that wonderful time at the BE men's tourney...watching the UConn/Villanova game...Aubrien entered a hospital in St. Petersburg for several days of testing. That might have ended a couple of days ago. The hope is that he will
continue to let UConn fans know how it is going. He gives the strong impression that the entire UConn community stepped up big for his daughter.

Hoping for the best.

Sad update - saw on twitter that they’ve decided to stop chemo treatments and Aubrien is at home.
