For those of you that need a fix watching games, the DII version of the NCAA Tournament begins this Friday, March 10th. There are 8 regionals of 64 teams. The Midwest Regional is at the home of #1-ranked Ashland University in Ohio.
Ashland is 31-0 and plays an up-and-down game, averaging 95.7 points. They apply defensive pressure from beyond the half-court line, utilize a lot of double teams, create plenty of turnovers, and give up too many layups. They run whenever available and have the nation's best three-point shooter in Kelsey Peare, who's knocked down 75-137 for 54.74 percent. Ashland only lost by 9 at Ohio State in an exhibition last fall.
There are four games at this regional on Friday, starting at noon. Ashland plays at 5 PM. Here's a link to the tournament page.
