Betty Jaynes, the driving force behind the WBCA and the former executive director died today at 68. Geno's tweet and other remarks are in an article on ESPN.

The WBCA has an internship program in her honor, and my wife and I donate to the fund annually when she pays her WBCA dues. Betty - whom we had never met - always wrote a nice personal note on the receipt for the donation we would receive in the mail. Just saw it the other day as I worked on taxes.

She was a well respected and beloved figure in the game. RIP.

Yes, the twitter world is full of comments about the passing of this giant. I have had the good fortune of meeting her many times. Best known for her WBCA formation work, but she also coached James Madison, back when it was just Madison. I loved talking to her about the early years of the game.
