“I’ve enjoyed my time not having a lot on my plate,” Taurasi said. “Just enjoying the kids and being around and being at home. Exploring different things I might like or not like. I’ve golfed a little bit more – it’s been bad golf but nonetheless…I’ve gotten to meet some interesting people. It’s been great."

Some great quotes about Paige too - Dee said she's Paige's biggest cheerleader...

These kids are growing up in a different era of basketball and a different era of technology – for me to give her advice on how I grew doesn’t really register. I want her to figure it out. The sky is the limit for Paige because she can galvanize a group of players, which is a huge thing. She prepares in the best way I’ve seen any player prepare in a long time, the way she goes about it. She’s so grounded and patient and she has a lot of grace.”

Dee nailed it. I know some people think maybe she'd not make a good coach because she was so intense on the court, but every time I've heard her talk about others (teammates, friends, other players, etc.), she's not only spot on with her observations and what she says (and fairly blunt and oftentimes funny), she's never demeaning or mean. She has incredible insight and is eloquent in how she says it.

I doubt she wants to go into coaching anyway, and Lobo had an interesting take:

Last week, Rebecca Lobo said Taurasi, who has hosted a popular ESPN2 show with Sue Bird during the Final Four, could be the next “Charles Barkley” on TV. “She’s sort of our Charles Barkley in terms of what she could bring to a studio, in particular a studio show, either in the NBA or the WNBA,” Lobo said on a media call.

When she talks about Paige "galvanizing" teammates, it's the same thing Dee did - leading Maria Conlon, Jess Moore, Barb Turner, Ann Strother and Ash Battle (off the bench) to a pair of NC's.

There was an article many years ago about DT and Morgan Valley driving around Storrs, and Diana taking about MBB players, and laughing about how they "are going to the League", and she had some on point takes, like, dude, you play 6 mins a game, but sure, you're going to "the league"

Bet there alot of people that would love to average 6 minutes in the league

I bet their bank accounts showed they were in "the league."

She did certainly nail it. How Dallas's year will go is pretty much entirely dictated by how her team mates accept her superior basketball acumen and accept a team based playing style. There are a couple of personalities there that need watching in that regard.

I don't think Rebecca is right about Diana as a studio personality, unless of course she can tone down the obscenity. That's fine on podcasts, but it probably won't fly on ESPN's many shows. The problem is her potty mouth is part of what we (or at least I) love about her.

Both Geno and Dawn have huge "potty mouths", and I believe ESPN, or any other sports show, would LOVE to have them on full time. If you really think Dee (or any of them) would drop F-bombs if hosting show, then I don't believe you know any of them, nor have a clue about their professionalism.

What they WON'T do is publicly disparage, and rant about, a great player (like Swoopes did) by spouting erroneous facts.

You missed my point, though it wasn't all that serious to begin with. If Diana cleans up her language, she may not be nearly as much fun as she currently is. And she is much more entertaining to watch than Geno is, and he's pretty funny.

I don't agree. I've seen her on numerous shows and interviews where she's just as compelling without the sailor verbiage. People who think she needs to cuss to be fun have a narrow definition of “fun”.
