Five women with Arizona ties were selected as the grand marshals for one of the Valley’s most popular annual parades.

Phoenix Mercury star Diana Taurasi, U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team players Julie Ertz and Jessica McDonald, U.S. Paralympic gold medalist Allysa Seely and Special Olympics golfer Amy Bockerstette will be the grand marshals for the Fiesta Bowl parade, the organization announced Wednesday in a press release.

"Of all the things I’ve done, a parade is not on the list," Taurasi said. "I’m actually really excited. I think this will make me a true Phoenician in a lot of ways. I'll be working on my (parade) wave.

Went to that parade when UConn played in the Fiesta Bowl. Was so cold everyone was wrapped in blankets. Unusual weather pattern during that time.
