Of those schools, Connecticut is the only one Stone has visited. He stopped by their campus in mid-June for an unofficial visit.

“It was great,” he said of the trip. “[Kevin] Ollie is a great coach. Their style is great. Everyone is great and the academic advisors. They are all great and on the same page.”

“I like Ollie because he’s not worried about the basketball part,” he added. “He said the basketball part is going to handle itself. He’s about making me a better man, a better person and being a team player.”

This is the story and interview that lead Evan Daniels to tweet these out:

@B_WRecruiting Plenty. LOVES Ollie. Story up in next few days

It's still early & Diamond Stone certainly wouldn't tell me if he had a leader, but I like Connecticut's position. Kevin Ollie all over him.

Is that the full article?
No, but that's the meat of it. Other schools he mentions are Kansas and Kentucky. But the excerpt does make it seem like UConn has a very good shot at landing him.

Best part of the article right there. That's what kids want to here.

Seems like we have a great shot to get him, I'm cool with him being a one year guy, as long as we believe Enoch and Brimah will be around the year after he leaves.

Don't want to go into 2016 with no experience BIGS (outside of Lubin and Facey)

That's a good point. Wisconsin has been hounding D. Stone as much as UConn has this July and is the home state university. Plus, they'll have a glaring hole at the center position in 2015 after Kaminsky leaves.

Now that the badger's are a real player in college BB with their success lately they would have to be in the mix . I think KO can pull this off but it will be tough.

haha But last year they scored a bit more and weren't quite as painful to watch

Last year, they just liked to play off people behind the three point line in the final seconds when leading by two.

Must be a Big 10 thing.

Indeed, that's correct.

Just spoke with Malik Newman...says he and Diamond Stone WILL be a package deal...mentions UK, Kansas and UCONN as schools recruiting both

I guess we dont have to worry about Wisconsin

This is an interesting competition.....UK, KU, and UConn. KO apparently the only coach getting such specific kudos. I wonder how many centers the other two will have back next year. Doesn't UK have about 4 McD's AA centers next year?

Speaking of sleeping on people...I feel like Bill Self has been winning a lot of the big battles the last few years. He sits back and then offers a starting job and unlimited playing time and recruits jump at it. We might not have those same luxuries.

I don't know anything about recruiting but no one mentions Kansas to land them and to me it would seem that would be the best place for both if they wanna know for sure that they both will play right away.......which they will anywhere but Def there......Not hearing their name as much as others scares me because they always land top players.
