Azzi will give Geno the ability to play her when Paige rest, providing a go-to scorer for the second unit. She provides the gravity his system needs to flow freely as space opens up. Not saying Azzi doesn’t start ( she will eventually as this is almost certainly her last year), just stating the obvious: she changes the rotation equation since her minutes will be restricted initially. Been awhile since we saw Azzi, and there will be game rust at first, but she is a legit all-American and a lethal scorer. Her, Jana or Strong, Morgan or AG, KK and, say, Shade would be a matchup nightmare for most opposing 2nd unit squads.
GENO is the walking proof of confidence in UCONN BB and with all his stated "what's wrong with Uconn" . he knows what he has as a team and can see .at least ,another final four. as he has stated many times, his final goal is a NC. The next 2 games will make GENO the winningest coach in history.GO GENO!!!!GO FRESHMEN!!!! GO SOPHOMORES!!!! GO HUSKIES!!!!
You know, this article talks about "experience" or lack thereof. And how Fudd will bring some when she comes back. BUT, she has only played as many games/min as Shade and Arnold. And they've actually started more games than Fudd. Age wise sure, but game wise, not much difference.
I think Chen only played 3 years. Ivy League cancelled season during covid. It is interesting, but as far as experience, how many teams out there have any players who have started a FF game. Ice, Shade, and KK may be 'only sophomores' but they have experience in high pressure games, and while Chen is new to this program she got a lot of experience in her 4 Princeton years.
And as the saying goes, even Freshmen are not inexperienced when March comes around.
