Desmond Conner suggesting that Boise State might get an invite for basketball

No. . Way. I would want UConn to split with the Catholic schools if we allow this nonsense.

It's not a trial balloon, just reality. If the NBE is to thrive, it needs Boise. I would give them an all sports invite if needed.

Otherwise, we split with the Catholics and play indy football. Playing CUSA football will kill the program after a few years.

Yeah Des the MWC is going to get a bigger TV contract than the Big East. Come on.

Indy just isn't an option.

No tv contract.
No bowl game tie-ins.
Impossible to schedule teams.

If you think playing C-USA Football will kill the program, try having 4 home games a year vs MAC/FCS Schools and 8 road games vs C-USA/MAC teams.

The question is moot, imho. Boise is not asking for an all sports invite, all reports have said they are asking the BE for help finding a spot in a western conference. They can't afford the travel costs and the time away from class is probably prohibitive (though perhaps not that much more than going from Boise to California, etc.)

I know, I just can't imagine playing a CUSA or MAC schedule. Just horrible. I don't really know if I could be into it after having the BCS experience.

I would hope we would stick with Big East and play football only in a lesser conference. No way do I want UConn basketball playing CUSA crap.
