DePaul (16) vs Syracuse (14) - 11/24/18

Should be a fun game. Thanks for bringing all this scheduling content to the board and so well packaged!

Maybe both teams break 100.

For the couple of people who are interested, this game should be starting right about now.

Wow that's the easiest, most painless free stream ever.

Syracuse up 18-6 at end of Q1. DePaul is 0-15 from 3 - not a good omen. So few fans are there (Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya) it looks like not even all the players' parents showed up.

.-.
DePaul still can't hit the broad side of a barn. 28% shooting overall, 5-27 on threes. They'd be way ahead if they were 10-27 on threes (37%), or if they shot twice as many twos at the same % and were 10-18 instead of 5-9.

That is indeed the way it works! ;)

Sorry to just restate the obvious. This is like watching 2 high school teams (we will absolutely blow DePaul out of the gym Wednesday if they play like this). So I guess I was dealing with the boredom of that, and it being halftime in the Ohio State-Michigan game, by boning up on my arithmetic...

4 pt lead for SYR with under 9 min left to play.
This is going down to the wire.

.-.
DePaul has stormed back to take the lead. Syracuse had a scoreless drought that seemed to last forever. They finally broke the drought now and Mangakahia just hit a bit 3 to cut the deficit to 66-63 with 2:45 to go.

DePaul had this game and they let it slip away. 0:16 left and Syracuse up 2. DePaul with the ball and 2 TO's, Syracuse none.

Wow what an exciting end to regulation. Syracuse tied the game with a 5-point burst from a 3-pointer followed by a steal and layup off the press. Then Mangakahia had an impressive leaner in the lane to take a 2-point lead for Syracuse. DePaul had a 3-pointer rim out but got the putback to tie the game just before the buzzer.

.-.
Oops, that’s it. Syracuse pulls out the win 83-81 in OT.

Tiana Mangakahia scored all 11 of Syracuse's points to win the game for her team, including the game-winner on a reverse layup at the buzzer. She is really a handful, and DePaul simply couldn't stop her down the stretch.

It's tough being a DePaul fan lately. They give up the game-winner to Chennedy Carter and Texas A&M to exit the NCAA tournament last March, and now this...

A very entertaining game. Syracuse by two in overtime on reverse layup by their point guard as the clock expired. I won't even try to spell her name.
