I almost didn't do the recap because DelSt was both bad and missing key starters. But the completionist in me won out. I'll post some cumulative stats to make it worthwhile. A good mile marker before the competition gets tough. Check here for a summary of how I'm charting the plays. Name (Positive/Negative, Net) Newton - 7/3 +4 - Pretty quiet game for Newton, he before he got hurt late. Made a couple 3s early, couple passes, but much quieter than last 2 games. Hawkins - 13/8 +5 - Rough first 5 minutes on both ends for Hawkins seems to be a pattern. Came alive with a couple 3s, a couple blocks, and some nice rebounds in last 10 minutes of 1st and throughout the 2nd. Alleyne - 14/4 +10 - Mostly mistake free game for Alleyne. 4 assists and no turnovers, plus a couple nice hockey assists... really kept the ball moving. Shot better, too. He's quite good at defending 1v1 in transition, probably better than in half court. Karaban - 14/4 +10 - Great passing as always. Main mistakes were fouls, and one errant entry pass, but in general he's very good at entry passing. Up to 36% from 3 on the year after his cold start. Sanogo - 19/2 +17 MVP - 11/1 in 1st half, 7/1 in 2nd. Just about a perfect game. Scoring, rebounding in traffic, contesting shots, made his only 3. A few fouls, but a couple were questionable calls. Diarra - 10/3 +7 - A strong start to the game with penetration passing and keeping ball moving, but got sloppy in the last 5 minutes. Hopefully just taking it casual in garbage time. Jackson - 12/7 +5 - A few too many aggressive play mistakes, seems to think if he uses just his chest and not his hands they won't call him for a foul, but they do lol. He still does a lot of good, though. Had a lot of success in middle of zone, whether passing or screening. Hit a 3 off an ATO play. Calcaterra - 12/5 +7 - A lot more facilitating from Calcaterra today. 6 assists to 3 turnovers. Defense was mostly fine. A lot of balance to the team yesterday. Almost everyone between +4 and +10, other than Sanogo with another MVP performance.
