Defensive assignments

They seemed to want to slow down Carter by assigning Jackson to him, which they did (relative to his last few games), but how in the world did Hurley not watch the first 10 minutes and realize Jackson needed to be guarding Hopkins. Sure Jackson had 2 fouls at that point, but coming out of the half things needed to change.

I know many things killed them tonight, but that was puzzling. Regardless, if Hopkins keeps it up he should be BE POY

Karaban shouldn't have even been guarding Hopkins at tip-off. It was obvious he'd get abused by him. It's unfair to put a freshman in that position and refuse to make adjustments. "Toughness!!" is not coaching.

It’s not like Hopkins was posting up all game. Jackson could have matched up with him. It would have been tough. But much better than Alex.

Heck half of this board said that Jackson needed to be guarding Hopkins as priority #1 pre-game. Really don’t know what the staff was seeing that we weren’t
